Agree, but wouldnt sack a coach who is dealing with an injury crisis like ours.

We haven't lost most games due to a lack of talent, it's been a lack of system and effort. Goody won't get sacked no matter how bad this year ends up but injuries don't excuse our shitness.

We have still managed a shitload of inside 50s and our forward line and midfield have been mostly untouched with injury anyway. Our problem is our highly paid ball movement coach is the bloke who set up the Dogs 16 premiership however both sides have proven to be one trick ponies.

My faith is little but i still have it, because i still have faith in Roosy and his choice. Having no faith in Goodwin is having no faith in Roos. So if you all want goodwin sacked, you may as well point the finger at Roos like we did with Lyon, and just say the Roos rebuild amounted to nothing.

It did amount to nothing.

2019 AFL Season heading into round 11, 3 wins, Highest loss so far 80pts, Lost to interstate sides at the MCG twice, Port Adelaide and GWS.

2003 AFL Season heading into round 11, 3 wins, Highest loss so far 60pts, Lost to interstate sides at the MCG twice, West Coast and Fremantle.

Damn, Daniher should have lost his job way sooner

2004 - knocked out first week of finals after choking hard at the top of the table late in season
2005 - knocked out first week of finals
2006 - again choked and threw away top four finish. Two losses to Carlton.
2007 - first of 11 years of misery

I can only dream of us sacking Daniher in 2003

I think it’s a stretch saying our forward line has been mostly untouched by injuries. Trac has off-season knee surgery and looks fat, TMAC had off season ankle surgery and is moving around like a pensioner, Hannan hasn’t played a game, Melksham is currently out of the side injured. Joel Smith was also being touted as a forward pre-season and hasn’t played a game. Injuries have cruelled us. But our game plan is still terrible.

Tmac and Trac have played every game so can't use that excuse. Melksham played in all out shit performances. Joel Smith has never played a good AFL game. Hannan is a miss but those excuses are crap

Are people aware of the amount of players we have has out?

We have like 20 players out injured or coming back through the VFL from injury.

Our list of outs would near beat the list of players we have playing lol.

Yeah I’m aware - but read the bottom of my post. Of course it’s a large part of our drop off. But last week showed a few things
- playing a fit team is better than an underdone one
- when at least a semblance of a game plan is there and the players work hard we can compete with most

But of course our leadership had their head so far up their asses they did zero development on their game plan and played unfit injured favorites so we pissed away the port, St Kilda games at the very least

People wouldn’t be complaining hard of we were 5 wins, it would just be the usual stuff we never work on

Clearly Goodwin won’t get sacked but wow he is doing a terrible job repeating the mistakes of the last two seasons while adding new stupidity and hubris

Goodwin's time is up!

no structure at all at either end of the ground, its actually embarrassing when you see more goals in a half of an A-League game than your AFL team can score!

They will never fire him but I tend to agree. Maybe keep him on as a figurehead but all the other coaches need to be swapped out

Are you dr. Truth / blitznu

He could be me. I’ve been trying to sack Goody since before he started

Goodwin - Essendon let him walk
McCartney - Old School bloke no one rates or rated!
Jennings - WHO? Bulldogs let him walk
Chaplin - Tigers let him walk
Plapp - Dud
Rooke - Looks like a hobo and smart as a fence post
Rawlings - Tigers let him walk
Egan - Essendon let him walk
Mathews - Living in Roos shadow and no being found out

Not exactly getting the best of the best down at the Dee's are we!

Um, apart from players coaching at the same club they played at after they retired, every coach in the league was allowed to walk from their previous job.

It's not normally the case that you let them walk for another assistant position though. Normally only for senior coach positions.

How many of our assistant coaches were dismissed from their previous role before their contract was up?

Didn't we go hard at dew but swans didn't want to let go of an assistant coach so he could be an assistant some where else. Anyway the thing that worries me about Goodwin is he didn't exactly come from a successful club. Melbourne and Essendon seem very similar as in both teams don't seem to have a good structure. Sure there's some exciting football here and there but overall doesn't feel like we're getting anywhere. I think of the preliminary final from last year I felt the first 5 minutes were pretty good but we just had an in ability to hit the scoreboard. Once west coast got their first so easily the team just capitulated after that, there was more than just stage fright, it was a lack of structure that was costly. Anyway I'm ok with keeping Goodwin but he needs to be surrounded by better personal. Troy Chaplin for example his role is offensive coordinator he doesn't seem at all the right person for that role. Jade Rawlings as the backline coach, how come our backline look so disorganised all the time. Can't remember the exact situation but I think it was in the second quarter against gws. There was a stoppage on the 50metre arc and all I could noticed was petty? Being caught out trying to cover two blokes, looks like he was trying to call for some assistance but he got nothing. There's probably numerous examples but this sticks in my mind as I had a perfect view. Anyways I'm ranting now, too many years of the same old, time for some change.
