Yeah, I remember Roos saying that he didn’t talk anything about tactics and strategy with Goodwin when he interviewed for the job. All they talked about was culture.

Roos did a great job and I potted Goody a ton over the journey but I still reckon Goodys work gets underrated compared to Roos who is probably a bit overrated. This is Goodys team playing the way he wants them to play and has been for a while.

I don’t think anyone puts anything tactically down to Roos. His effect was mostly just getting the senior players used to winning again and safeguarding the development of the younger guys who came in from 2013-2015 to make sure they ‘grew up’ in a more positive environment than their predecessors. The change in our game from 2017 to 2018 made it clear that Goody had essentially cleaned the slate by then.

Goody was lauded by David King and other media in 2018 for playing two wingers off the backline of the centre square to be involved at centre stoppage. He always has creativity but whoever got the midfield chemistry going and team defence working like clockwork deserve huge praise.

The one thing that has stood out for some time was the relationship he had with the players. I think bee all got a bit frustrated particularly post 2019. I’ll put my hand up. I mean I didn’t necessarily want him gone but thought had 2021 not gone well we look elsewhere. But he’s done a magnificent job.

I'm actually not saying legit sack Choco, I just think it's only the nuffs who just go straight for the head coach when there's a coach in charge of the very specific area that cost us both finals.

Nope - more than happy to vomit up that humble pie.

Sorry Simon - you've been gifted the best Melbourne list in over 50 years and wasted it.

To lose 4 finals in a row, all at the MCG, and all in the same fashion - what a ****ing disgrace - undone any of the trust you built in 2021.

We all know Carlton arent at all a threat this year - neither are we obviously - but what a pathetic disgrace to just hand them a prelim appearance and bow out in straight sets back to back.

Simon Goodwin definitely belongs at the MFC - he's taken it to its next epoch of disappointment
