As I see it, we have 2 unwanted records that may never be broken.

1. Biggest loss in GF.
2. Most games by a coach without reaching a GF.

As bad as 1 is, I think 2 is worse. 1 can perhaps be explained away as an unfortunate freak of nature but 2 points to a deeper malaise within the club - poor decision making and acceptance of mediocrity.

Hinkley and the Port fanbase.

Hinkley and Brent Montgomery.

Hinkley and Jarrad Schofield.

Hinkley and September pressure.

I have absolutely no idea about 9 out of 10 of these. Guess I also remember Jeff Kennett vs. Caro.

Lately on Whateley...

Someone texted in this morning saying..
"I hope we lose by 100 so we can finally be rid of Ken & let Carr make a start"

Poindexters pointed reply was...

"Misery knows NO Bounds.
What a Miserable way to enjoy your Footy"
Sounds like someone that's never experienced a thread of Caligula and monster truck gifs. What an empty existence.

You would think after that comment and the media pointing out of 0 grand final appearances/wins if a normal person/coach had any pride wouldn't you want to come out and prove the sayers wrong?

Instead just hanging around in the final year producing abyssal results to leave like a loser as you've always been.

I seem to recall the Cornes move to defence being more around 2002

• Chad 2002: 29 goals, 19 behinds, 17 R50, 92 I50, 48 1%ers / KPD trio: Paxman, Wakelin, Bishop

• Chad 2003: 29 goals, 30 behinds, 15 R50, 88 I50, 27 1%ers — KPD trio: Paxman, Wakelin, Bishop

• Chad 2004: 4 goals, 7 behinds, 111 R50, 53 I50, 71 1%ers — Cornes, Wakelin, Bishop

Being famously versatile he may have spent the odd bib and bob down back before that, but 2004 was when he became the rebounding fulcrum.

48 less scoring shots, 96 more reb50’s, 44 more 1%’ers (mostly spoils) and AA CHB.

I seem to recall the Cornes move to defence being more around 2002 when he finally revoked Darren Mead's gold pass, several years too late?
Trading out Guerra was a dumb, dumb move. Cockatoo Collins was another justified delisting. Was soft and offered nothing after about 2001.

Cornes didn't move down back until 2004 - he was a forward in 2002 and 2003.

Guerra left because he and Choco clashed and I know that having had a personal connection to Guerra at that time. It's over 20 years ago now so I don't remember all the details, but I'm pretty sure he wanted more opportunities and Choco wasn't going to give them to him. Wasn't until he got a 3rd chance at Hawthorn that he really got his act together.

Hahaha did he actually read it? That was me. How far into the show did he read it out? This is what I wrote, seems like he cherry picked the text:

Gerard, the build up in the media about the Hawks / Ports game is just factually false. Port fans do not hate the Hawks and couldn't care less about the "grudge". We dislike Ken as much as them, if not more. Most are hoping it is a 100+ loss so he finally moves on and lets Carr actually take over.

I don't even think if we lost the next two by 100+ Ken would walk, I mean this is the kind of beast we're dealing with. I know for sure the club won't sack him.
Strap yaselves in we all knew this was going to happen.
I'm not even going to bother watching 1 second of this shit on Sunday.

Look, we all have our opinion of this club since 2017 in particular, but bloody hell this is awfully rich coming from the captain of a club who have won a single final in that same time period and literally had just lost to that nowhere club.

Sicily spoke there whilst on a foundation of quicksand.

I just want him gone so can possibly enjoy watching my club again.
Carr takes over and try's to sway Butter and Bergman to stay
Unfortunately all I can see is 2026 brings
Hinkley gone
Boak gone
Butters gone
Bergman gone
And 2 first round picks only because we are soft

I'm shocked the little suckhole that had a meltdown over the Messi/Miers meme misquoted you to further the Hinkley agenda.

Haha! Congratulations,
Yeah sorry I might have got the quote a bit wrong...I was too busy reeching over "Weaklings" repetitive & baffling stance.
It was about 9am when I tuned in. Just before Phil Davis, I think.
*look it up over VPN, so he doesn't get the engagement!

Chewy mate I think you’ve missed the point a bit
At the start of those 8 years the hawks had come off a three peat and an earlier flag in 08, they totally rebuilt their list and rose back to the top (chaired by a club great at the helm) in the same time we milled around opening jars of farts over home and away records, throwing golden opportunity after golden opportunity away

I took it to mean you’ve had your time and you shat the bed it’ll be our time next time we meet and you know what if that’s what he meant he’s right

I have bolded that line deliberately because that simply cannot be the case if at the time the club has just won a game to get into a prelim final. This comment from Sicily would make sense in your context had Port just lost, but they didn't.

This is a great way to show how up their own arses the media are. Not a single fan cares about a "feud" involving a media personality.

Something like Mac Andrew v Thillthorpe might make the games an interesting watch in the future, if I like watching AFL that might be important to me. Why the **** would I care who doesn't like David King or Damien Barrett?

It's all about that group of 20 or so media "personalities" (term applied very loosely) in their eyes. The AFL media is ****ing abysmal.

its also a bit of a sign of how sanitised the game is. Cant list 10 player vs player feuds. Has to be 9 out of 10 media vs media lol.
