The truth of the matter was Hinkley was in charge til round 3. Behind the scenes after the first showdown loss and the "untenable" predicament, the board met with the coaches and discussed moving Hinkley to the bench and having Carr takeover as Unofficial head coach until the bye.

During the bye the players made it clear, that while winning was enjoyable it was too much hard work and the new gameplan was taxing and weren't happy with their work life balance. They felt football style and longer recovery interrupted too much from their outside lifestyles.

The Board met again shortly after the bye and decided to revert back to a more Hinkley led gameplan which is far less taxing, and the work life balance and the extra insta posts and likes makes the players happy, at the expense of winning and playing good football, a fair compromise.

The board has come to the conclusion Hinkley is the man going forward and Carr will be given his marching orders at seasons end.
Is this an interpretation based on observing the season so far? Or do you have credible sources?

So we start of with a Hinkley game plan, we look on track for another failed season, find out they were expecting to lose 2 of the first three.

Tredrea calls Hinkley “untenable”, they kick Hinkley out of the coaches box, give Josh Carr control and we look like red hot premiership contenders.

They then decide, to go back to Hinkley having more control. After doing so, look flakey as alway under Hinkley and lose 3 games in a row.

How does that lead to giving Hinkley an extension? To any reasonable person that screams it’s time to move Hinkley on and appoint Carr permanently.

With a few exceptions, any player that doesn’t like that can be told to go elsewhere.

So why do Kane, Caro, Dillon etc seem so sure he’s getting an extension if things are being kept close to their chest?
Because it's "looks" like it, they'd re-sign any coach after 13 wins in a row at other clubs. They are guessing and want to be right.

Caro said Clarko to Gold Coast was a definite look how that turned out.

JHF should've waited a year and gone to the crows.

Carr hasn't been interviewed? How do you know that son!

His management has been contacted and they weren't told "no". Was reported a couple of weeks ago and I'm counting it as a tick for the purpose of this.

Those connectedness reunions are going to be elite though...

“Not to big note ourselves, but can we do a bit of deep dive into the night we got within a kick of the moighty Pies on our own home deck?!”

— “Course we can, Kenny!”

Looks like we'll be reaching Sack Hinkley 20 before he finally leaves.
Doubt it honestly. The apathy will take over and tumbleweeds will move in.

The thread will just be thunderclapper telling nobody how good is Kenny Hinkley guys.

Open traing Friday just before flying off to Carlton game - Ken and Davies thick as thieves.

Davies / Kochie / Ken, until one domino falls nothings changing.

Davies is good though.

Getting rid of Davies is key to getting rid of Hinkley. There's been a reeking stench of mediocrity since his arrival in 2015. No coincidence that "Kenny" has been pretty much untouchable since then.

Half a tick at best!

The way coaching interviews are conducted there’s no way of knowing if or when it happens. The fact his management have been contacted and he’s in the mix means his hat is on the ring. For the purposes of this exercise it counts.

The week of the Collingwood game I went along to a function where Travis Boak and Connor Rozee were the guests. Obviously nothing was going to officially be confirmed but I just got the impression from the way they spoke then the Hinkley contract was as good as done, but I do hope the club has the professionalism and competency to see how the season plays out.

They all seem very comfortable in the environment and I don't think the players like the idea of another coach or anyone really challenging them or changing the current environment they have in place.

A lot of the conversation from Boak and Rozee was around the need for them to be good humans first and foremost and the connection and relationships within the club is the most important thing that underpin everything they do etc. Football is not the be all and end all and there is so much more to life etc.

It was all very lovely to hear how well everyone gets on and is "connected" Sounds like a great Social Club. As a fan and member who spends $1000s of dollars I'd like to see them get connected to winning a Premiership if that wasn't too much an inconvenience.:D
Relationships 'within the club', so obviously not relationships out in the community they are supposed to make proud.

Build those walls boys, Camry crow lite.

Davies is good though.
If his mate Hinkley and protecting the boys club is more important than the pursuit of a premiership and if he isn’t willing to front the board and call out Hinkley’s failings as senior coach, then he isn’t “good”

If the above is true, he is a part of the problem and we’d be better off without him.

Davies doesn't amount to * all if he oversees a department that consistently condones Hinkley, and all of the weird cult/greyhound predatory s**t.

The rumoured 2 year contract extension for Dixon is why I think Hinkleys next contract is 2 years. Hinkley, Davies, Dixon are in it together for one last cash grab before GTFO.

We usually give older players 1 year deals. Nothing about his form or injury history warrants 2 years, and by the end of it he'll be our second oldest player ever after Boak.

Your such a tosser... Would be a pity if teekray suspended you... Would miss your s**t posting.

When Hinkley finally does leave I can see thundercloud cracking cyanide capsules in his sleeping children’s mouths like Magda Goebbels.

Hopefully they’ve flown the nest.

If you're a member, email the club and ask to be taken off of autorenew. Tell them that if Hinkley is re-signed next year, nothing less than a 2023 premiership will have you renewing in 2024.

If you're no longer a member, email the club and tell then how long you've been a member of the club for, but that you've ended your membership because of the continued employment of Hinkley. Tell them that if Hinkley is re-signed next year, nothing less than a 2023 premiership will have you renewing in 2024.

Do this as soon as you can. Do it today, ideally. Make the club aware of how much money they're going to lose by making this decision. If you wait until after they announce the decision, it'll be too late.
