Micheal Johnson's father died of cancer three days ago
I only knew him as "Concrete" found him a good bloke

He would have passed away knowing he was a good father. Everything i've seen of Jonno both on and off the field struck me he is a well balanced guy. That doesnt happen by accident.

Woods went off the rails when his dad died. Not saying it is going to happen and it is probably highly racisist thing to say really.

I do know of one guy now who has really lost it due to his dads death. 3 months later and the guy is a huge mess.

It can go either way with the loss of a loved one. Some people go off the rails, while others realise life is short and focus on what is important to them and find a steely resolve.

I guess it isn't racist, just that with a statisically shorter average lifespan, indigenous players are more likely to lose a father whilst they are still playing AFL than others.

Nicky Winmar lost his Dad the day before the 97 GF and whilst he didn't play well in the GF, he still played OK for most of the 98 season.

Very sad for MJ, my deepest condolences.
