Even though we have been able to see what a lot of the younger guys have to offer us, there are a few others who i would like to see in preference of Saddo. Good to see Hampson get another game today though.
We are still in with a chance of playing finals, so we need to pick our best & in form team every week. We have given plenty of young players a chance this season, but at the end of the day those that put their hand up while playing with the Bullants should be rewarded, rather than picking young players just for the sake of it.

Your original point was that if Pagan had have replaced Austin with Saddington this week everyone would have jumped on Pagan. That is completely wrong given the current situation.
If we were in this position with Pagan, we would be holding our collective breathes waiting for the shitstorm to start.

But I think that we would never have gotten into this situation with Denis the menace...

So how do you guys think he went today?

Thought he looked ok, didn't have much confidence in his disposal though.

Those of you who watched him more closely/are smarter than me might have a better idea though ;)

saddo was included this week because the MC and Ratten think we are still a chance to play finals. If we happen to sneak into the 8th spot, we will need some form of experience back there. Thornton and Jamison can take 2 forwards, Waite will be used as a roaming defender/ quarterback/ wingmen, so we would have been one defender short.

therefore we need one more big body in defence, and that man is saddo. We simply cant put him in for the first week of the finals, we need to test him out at AFL level, and see how he goes or get him up to speed.

bower is also another option but still coming back from injury. Playing saddington was an insurance game for us. just in case we make the 8.

Thought he did well, enough to hold his spot.

Had a couple marks against him, first one was a little easy, but other than that some good spoils.

Really hope he plays next week.

Did look a bit nervey at the start.

If Bower's match fit, straight swap for Saddington. It's clear Saddo isn't part of our future, so no reason not to play Bower if ready, as he's significantly better offensively and better defensively as well. Saddington's disposal was very poor today.

He was absolutely hopeless today...I'll be extremely surprised if he plays ever again!

I don't know which game you were watching????

The one thing I didnt like was the feather bump Brogan gave him in the last quarter to take the easiest of marks. That was disgraceful.
He's still useless above his head. I was horrified to see him on Westhoff at one stage. Thank you for coming Jason.

Bower back next week.

The same one you were.

You obviously have a grudge against the guy.

Yet week in, week out we pass by that every defender, has 'easy' marks taken against them or their disposal was 'poor'.

Saddington was good. Tried hard.

Waite got smashed by Brown when we played them, did call for his head?

I have no grudge against Saddington...he was simply shite.

I don't think it's fair to lump Saddo in with Waite...different class altogether...and no I never called for Waite's head!

From my perspective, watching it at the ground, I thought Saddo was shocking, easily worst on the ground for us (with Fisher being next in line)...

It was a great team performance but Saddo looks way behind everyone else.

Fisher missed 2 sitters directly in front of goal and had several ineffective kicks.

Saddington has played one game all year and played quite well. And I don't think it'd fair that you call for him to be dropped.

I was at the ground also and thought that his effort was great.

He also showed some experience and leadership in directing our back line at times.

He was a weak link in defence. In fact he was an embarrasment. Those of you who thought he was solid must have been watching a different game.

An embarrassment?

We one by 66 points today, and you are calling one of your teams players an embarrassment.

He did what he had to do.

Not the best, not the worst.

I can't believe some people on here.

i like the way on tripple m after each game they give out the best 3 and the worst 3,

My worst 3 IMO...
3.Fisher= his kicking can really damage carltons momentum.
2.Russel=no composer, went missing, disposal has to be questioned..
1.Sado= thanks for coming, (lesson in life you NEVER get somthing good for nothing).

Stevens might have something to say about that - as might Scotland, for that matter.

And what did he do may i ask ?? he had 3 goals kicked against him against a team that only scored 9 goals for the game... not exactly solid ?

I didn't think Russell was too bad TBH, by his standards.

He played his defensive pressure role well, linked up well with our more classy running mids with some quick handballs and disposal wasn't too bad when he had it from memory.

But that's a little off topic I know...

Yeah, a little...;)

It was in response to a post above where Russell was mentioned.

AS for Saddo, not sold on him but look I'll go with whatever the MC go with. I would certainly like Bower instead though :thumbsu:
