Nah I know, I just can't find info anywhere on how long the deals were for. You can cross them off the list anyway. Maybe Ryder only got a year though because of his age.

Anyway looks like Paton & Carlisle are the two main ones. Ratts said in his presser that Carlisle will be given a year so that's good news.

Would Carlisle have given them an indication he will stay? Or just happy that we still have Robbo, Webster and Sav ( maybe) around to cover if nec.
if we don’t have another backman in mind

One year probably not going to cut it for a 29 year old with 3 kids... I imagine he will get offers of at least 2, maybe 3 years elsewhere.

The new VFL hybrid thing is going to be interesting. There is always talk of developing rucks outside the clubs and bringing them in in their 20s.
I am hoping that is the call. I understand the club need to make hard choices due to the list cuts but i am extremely disappointed in Bell's delisting. He has some tools—competitive, great leap, lovely marking technique. Understand it but not pleased.

Bell and abbot delisted over alabakis? Feel for langlands. Great mates with the 2017 draft trifecta. He did show potential from his AFL outings. From the few training sessions I’ve been to prior to COVID bell was great.

Bell unlucky but l think there's an imperative to find a replacement for Paddy and he's just too far off atm.
It seems there will only be 2 rookie spots next year so they are more valuable than ever..

Bit sad for the development of young players, rucks in particular but I guess they can go to the lower leagues for less cash.

Agree, really sad. No more Michael Tucks! I thought there was potential in Mayo and Bell but we can't afford it I guess. One of my favourite St.K memories was feeling compelled to get to Waverley by 11.30 to watch this skinny kid who had all the tools but looked years away from a senior debut. There was a bloke playing a bit with him as well then who kept an eye on him. Matty Lappin, the little rabbit, and Rod Keogh—Rod may be hated by Saints fans because of 'The Ellen Incident'—but he had a great team spirit and was a warrior. Never made the most of his talents. Lappin was a star.

My point is I always pick a kid who isn't going to play straightaway but follow them week by week. In a hard year for 'following' I had set my sights on Bell and Mayo. So feeling somewhat crestfallen.

Yeah :-(

Just upset for him and his family. I understand why its happening and agree with your sentiment. Just hard all the same

Hope that his time training with the Saints helped him, and that he nails it next season and gets picked up again.

I think Carlisle will stay. I forgot if Ratts was asked if Carlisle will get a one year deal or will stay next year because they are two different things but Ratts said he would be offered a contract.

Bell and Abbott both delisted is interesting, we must have another ruck in mind. Alabakis is still a free hit as a cat b, right?

The list reduction sucks for someone like Bell, who was always going to need a lot of time and patience

Always find this part of the year tough. Thought Langlands was going to be a good player for us. Austin a disappointment. Bell had people praising him. Very tough. No VFL and reduced lists a nightmare. Are the replacements going to be better? We'll see.

Doulton Langlands, Ryan Abbott, Jack Bell, Jack Mayo and Logan Austin all delisted.

List sizes and salary for next year not released to the clubs yet.
Knowing the media molls at the afl it’ll be communicated via a live televised event from Jupiters Casino.

Surprised Alabakis & Joyce are still on the list. And think they are waiting to see if McKenzie, Parker & Phillips have any trade value.

Six down so far. How many more do you think?
Negotiations are still ongoing between the AFL and AFL Players' Association, but it's looking increasingly likely there will be 42 players on lists in 2021, plus up to two Category B rookies.

If that's the case with these de-listings we are down to 38 and one Cat B.

Need to make way for some trades and draft picks (currently 14, 58, 73, 86) so you'd expect 2 or 3 more - Marsh, Phillips, Parker, Hind, Clav, Savage all out of contract so they'd worried.

Paton and Carlisle will get new offers - depends whether they think its enough.
