Really poor comments and short sightedness from you.
I don't like to keep going over old ground, but regardless of what you think of my opinion, I am allowed to have one, even if it is different than yours.

I am not the only person who didn't like the video, why don't you question their judgement and pick on them, too?

I'm not going to say "omg, I lovd the vid, so super funny hahahaha" when I didn't. This isn't Putins Russia, I'm allowed to not like something, you know.

And I'm also allowed to refute your points and present my own. What's good for the goose and all...

Given that it is my opinion, and I have stated it is unlikely to change, attacking me and putting me down is hardly presenting alternative points.

I have been criticized for not having a light hearted attitude, yet the responses to my attitude indicate the exact same of those criticizing me.

It's a 4 minute competition video out of season, which is not exactly critically important, so I don't see why there is so much angst that I don't like it.

If its a 4 minute competition video out of season which is not critically important why did you think it was unprofessional? I didn't mean to put you down I just thought you having a go at the saints for being creative was out of line.

I am certainly not having a go at St Kilda for being creative, we can be creative all we want, but I personally think as a professional football club putting out a video that is, in my opinion, the level of a year 10 AV project in acting ability, execution and idea isn't quite the message that a club on the rebuild wants to portray.

The Saints have often been viewed as the "good time" club, the place where you go have a casual kick of the footy with your mates and a quiet beer after. It has always been a criticism leveled at the Saints that our boys are more interested in having fun than winning games. The fact that our video is clearly the one that has had the most effort put into it by far reinforces that opinion.

It is a sore point with me, I would rather been seen as a club like Sydney, dour, overly serious and successful, than the loveable losers that give you a chuckle but have an empty trophy case.

This is 100% how I feel. I'm not trolling, or trying to start stuff because I think it is entertaining. I despise arguments over the internet, especially with fellow long suffering Saints fans, but my opinions are my own and I hate being told the way I feel is wrong.

Now I have said all that, if anyone still wants to attack me and bring me down, go ahead, I won't bother to post any more replies.

I wasn't attacking you and I apologise if you felt that way. Just having a discussion on a forum, which is the point of this place isn't it?

If I stated that I thought Robert Harvey was the worst player to play over 250 games would you refute this? Of course you would as its completely wrong. Its ok for me to think you are wrong and its ok for me to think that you are wrong, nothing wrong with healthy debate!

Don't over-react. Of course you're allowed an opinion, as others are allowed to counter that opinion. That''s what happens when you post on a public forum. It's hardly an attack.

As for your posts, the club is trying to open themselves up from the days of Ross Lyon's bubble in order to encourage more fans to sign up as members. Personally, I enjoy seeing the boys relaxed and having fun, and gaining some insight into what they're like as people, rather than just footballers. Like someone mentioned before, marketing is a huge part of being a professional organisation. We've received 40K+ views on youtube and this video has been featured on TV. There's a bit of buzz about in on twitter. We haven't received this much good press in a while, so it's a nice change and definitely a welcome one, after recent events.

If we end up winning, great. We've earned 30 return tickets to the US, and saved the club a lot of money. If we lose, we've generated some positive buzz around the club so it's still a major positive. I can't see this being a bad thing for the club in any way.

What the fcuk did you want? Speilberg to direct? Spend our entire footy department cash on CGI? Did you want Bana to do a 10 minute monologue?

Have you seen Sydney's one? That super "professional" club, that had some of the most poxy CGI i've ever seen. Probably year 5 AV club level. Hawthorns was possibly the worst thing I've ever seen. Not a single player took the time to get involved. You think that's professional? I think it's arrogance.

It was all for some fun, and for a prize - and guess what? We're currently winning.

You don't have to like the video, it's a bit lame I agree - but the point is to win, and we are. Unprofessional? Classic.

I can't say anything more than I have already said. I'm glad the majority like the video, and think it is funny and clever, I really am. I am not questioning the validity of the competition or the reason to compete in it, I can appreciate those points of view.

I have expressed my opinion of the subject at great length, though I don't see the need nor the reason to explain my opinion, I have done so anyway. I am glad the club is getting positive publicity, and that people are enjoying the silly video. I do not, and no amount of argument will deter me, in fact, trying to change my mind is only making my resolve stronger.

At the end of the day, whatever the Saints do, I will still love and follow them until I am in the cold ground. That's all that matters in the end.

Stop getting upset and whiny when you purposely post an unpopular opinion then get called on it. This is the internet, if you post your awful opinion, which in my opinion it is, then dont get offended and complain how no one respects your opinion.. again and again and again.

This is a great generator of good will. Its fun and isn't that what sport should be about?

Possibly the club is now seeing the benefit of putting good news stories and fun forward. The club has the amazing program of having members of the military address players before each home game. Wouldn't this be an amazing thing to share with all Saints members?

Every club did one so I guess that means there's 18 unprofessional teams in the comp.
So if you are unprofessional, doing an unprofessional activity, is that a good, or a bad thing? Or is it better to be professional, in an unprofessional competition, against a mixture of professional and unprofessional competitors?

What I do know is that either way, we can't win. ;)

There was one disappointment in the video and that was the lack of a guitar solo.
Damn it, would have been certain winners had they had someone rocking a Slash style guitar solo in the middle of the footy field.

FWIW I thought it was a gay video, in fact I thought Roo's dancing and lip synching was cringeworthy. I was waiting for Molly to swoop in in a pink tutu and plant one on the big boys lips.
The best part of the video was Kosi spitting water on the two so called coaches, I gave it a 2 out of 10. I would have had some Metallica rolling with half a dozen air guitars and big Ben would have been thumping out some serious vocals instead of the pre teen voice over they gave him. I also hope it's not the only thing Lewis Pierce will be famous for...having said that it was all in good fun....for a club that lost 17 games this year.

I feel that the video has several cringeworthy moments, but no harm done and the players appeared to have enjoyed it. My first thought was that it took only days for Milney to be retired for the club to refer to his vocal perormance as lacklustre and would have preferred Milney instead of Riewoldt as the singer, but hey, I understand why they did not use him and I doubt that Milne will have any bad feelings.

That said, I personally voted for the Melbourne video. I know that many clubs / players do similar things and I may be a sentimental softy, but isn't it great to have some positive impact in the public rather than all the drugs, scandals, sackings, etc. ? And I loved the way they put the video together - it's awesome.

Agreed, totally homosexual which is certainly the negative adjective everyone should use and frankly only the premiership winners should be allowed to have any fun in regards to their careers because anything less means youre a worthless human being and unfit to play our holy game.
