Saints game progress

If the Tigers put up another year of sh*t football then Browny will want to go back to the Dogs and Deledio will want a clearance to Carlton where his old man played.

The worst part about the game is that it felt we were never in it. Even when we got within a kick, the Saints just put the foot to the pedal and kept pressure on the scoreboard. I'm also tired of the easy free kicks for holding or 'in the back' that we give away at centre bounces. It happens way too often. Also the year after year problem is still there, that is - running off half back, then stuffing around with 2 or 3 side ways or backwards hand passes under pressure, only to turn it over. Some things change, some things remain the same.
I love your thinking just re-watched a passage of play , last 1/4 , McMahon kicked from one back flank to the centre of the ground to JON who kicked it long to Morton who kicked the goal. Neither of the kicks were great, but both were to players on the run.

Hey everyone....look on the bright side, we are a pretty good show of getting Nicholas Natanui with the number 1 draft pick in November 2008.

IMO Bowden, Tivdendale, Newman, Pettifer, Brown, Richo were all in our best 12 or so. All these guys are over 25.

Fact is our youngsters are simply not as good as we think, bar probably Deledio.

JON, Tambling, Casserly, Morton, Jackson, Hughes all need a kick up the arse

Edwards, Riewoldt, Polo have shown enough to me that they will be at least solid players
Sorry can not agree with Tiva, 1st quarter 3 times got either caught with it or turned it over, the others probably agree.

It's a shame we won't be seeing Trent Cothin, we could really do with him.

Tambling, JON, Polak, Silvester, Johnson, Raines, Jackson, Simmonds, Hyde, Patterson :thumbsd: ...to name a few.

Terry Wallace...please resign asap.
Hasn't the needle on your record player worn out yet???????

looks like we got another 5 yrs of 1st rd draft picks coming...by then Terry's 5 year plan will become the 15 year calamity

Just finished watching the replay and all I have to say is that nothing has changed. I refuse to believe that all our players can't think, yet they looked confused, not sure of themselves, lost if you like. An exact replica of last year. For the first time I now believe that Wallace has lost the faith of the playing group.

We just haven't made any progress what so ever. Very disappointing.

i honestly don't think there's anything wrong with our playing group, nor is there much wrong with our recruiting, it now seems obvious that the weak link is certainly in the coaching.

after 6 months of off season malaise, my gun is reloaded. Well give me a reason to change my tune!

Last week I watched the Tiges play in Echuca and the skills in very windy conditions where a lot better than tonight
It is so easy to bag a coach but at the end of the day we had as much of the play and we justed wasted the ball time after time
I have never thought that a coach should be held accountable for a bad coaching performace when they have a team that wastes the ball continually
He can't kick the thing for them!

Not sure how you can compare Echuca with St. Kilda. Not even in the same league.

It was interesting to hear King at 1/4 time refer to the game as a practice match a couple of times are they taking the game as seriously as we all are??

If they are not taking this seriously, even though its a glorified practice match, then the season is lost already. Not only is this a practice match for the players, its also a practice match for the coach so he can sharpen his skills.

The RFC played a practice match last week up here in Echuca
DERRRRR

I realise that, but you were comparing the two. RFC looked good when up against second rate players but were found wanting against the real thing. DERRR.

It was an intraclub match against themselves they didnt play against Echuca and my point was that in very tough conditions their skill level was not to bad but tonight in perfect conditions half the team couldnt hit a target to save themselves

Same thing.

The definition of INSANITY is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. I think you've gone mad trying to pick the needles of positives out of the hay of negatives that is RFC onfield.

You know you're in trouble when your team makes Charlie ****ing Gardiner look like a superstar!!! think about that for a few seconds

That's because they crap themselves when the real stuff is on just like rabbits
frozen by a spotlight.

Intraclub matches mean shit all. Thats why I don't even go. Practise matches mean slightly more than that because they are playing against different players who they don't spend 5 days a week with.

Richmond win every intraclub match. Thats the only positive.

Look at Collingwood last week too, in the end its just practice, and the main thing is to come out unscathed!

Id much rather loose all pre season games and come out with no major injuries then win the NAB cup but loose a foley or simmonds to injury

Look a lot of players in our side pick themselfs, the coaches know what most guys are capable of, the pre season games you get a look at players like Silvester, Cartlidge

I just think with the rules in place, interchange system, and more players in the team, it just doesnt give an idea of to what kind of game style they wanna play

Lets see what the boys can produce when they are in setttled positions, and see what the game style brings us, it might be a high rotation for the midfield, which isnt possible in the NAB cup

I couldn't give a rats about Collingwood. We were no different to last year, in every respect.

I'm not arguing against what you are saying there what I am saying is that these guys have the skills but fall apart when there is a bit of pressure put on them and half the time on gameday the pressure is only in their heads not on the field and they still screw it up
I'm still trying to work out how a coach can be to blame for that
Don't we have a head case coach down at the RFC
This is not about a defence of TW more about some Tiger supporters blaming him for player brain freezers on game day
Can't the players take a bit of the blame ???
