Saints game progress

Look at Collingwood last week too, in the end its just practice, and the main thing is to come out unscathed!

Id much rather loose all pre season games and come out with no major injuries then win the NAB cup but loose a foley or simmonds to injury

Look a lot of players in our side pick themselfs, the coaches know what most guys are capable of, the pre season games you get a look at players like Silvester, Cartlidge

I just think with the rules in place, interchange system, and more players in the team, it just doesnt give an idea of to what kind of game style they wanna play

Lets see what the boys can produce when they are in setttled positions, and see what the game style brings us, it might be a high rotation for the midfield, which isnt possible in the NAB cup

now you're really clutching at straws...a Tiger supporter so bruised, battered & punch drunk can't think clearly...just like most of the rest of us

I'm not arguing against what you are saying there what I am saying is that these guys have the skills but fall apart when there is a bit of pressure put on them and half the time on gameday the pressure is only in their heads not on the field and they still screw it up
I'm still trying to work out how a coach can be to blame for that
Don't we have a head case coach down at the RFC
This is not about a defence of TW more about some Tiger supporters blaming him for player brain freezers on game day
Can't the players take a bit of the blame ???

I don't see any light at at the end of the tunnel with this crop we have very few skilled players in this group and ones that are skilled are getting old, just be prepared for a cold hard winter again.:(

No light at the end of the tunnel ??????

But we had Wallace and Miller telling us at the end of last year that our list is in great shape for the future. Surely Greg and Terry were not spin doctoring to us all??

Greg & Terry......say it aint so ????????????????????

i must say (and it's been said a million times before)

Greg Miller stfu!!! every time you make some statement in the media it backfires horrendously. Do your job and no more talking in front of a mic or camera:o

I wish those two blokes would resign with dignity.

Have thought a loittle more about the game and yes we were sh!t but a couple of points to consider and things I think must happen.
Of our four best tall defenders, Thursty, McGuane, Schulta didn't play and Polak was tried forward.
A few musts, King and Newman to midfield, Raines and Polak back if anywhere and collard must be promoted to allow Lids and Brown time on the ball without robbing the forward line and lets only play one of tuck, johnson and jackson in the midfield together they all have to similar deffiencies.

Where the hell is Connors? I hope he is injured for TW's sake... Other than Moore & Lids, the only bloke on the list who provides any spark at all...

Repeat after me.

One game.

An absolute shithouse embarrassing game but just one. If it was for 4 premiership points I'd be piiiiiiiiiiiiiissed. We have 3 weeks to get this gameplan working. For Terry's future at our club he'd better hope it does.

Postives: King, Moore, Newman
Not Up To IT: Hyde, JON, Silvester, Cartledge
Game has passed them: Johnson, Tivendale
Back to the 2nds: Reiwoldt, Polak, Raines,
Some Nice signs nut not enough: Tampling, Morton and Casserly

- Was disappointed the lack of ground time that Pattison played.
- We should not even wirry about our rookie listed players, they are not up to it and would be nice to get the ones who are currently on the list right first.
- Lids should be played at CHF. If he has space he will be unstoppable. At FF he gets closed in by other players leading into his space. Also uses it so well.
- Moore really battled hard though he was outplayed. He would do well on the third tall forward.
- Bowden needs to take up a real position. Maybe a move into the midfield.
- Am very concerned about Polak, at his dimensions he has to play a key position. Don't think he can.
- Why is raines playing on bigger forwards. His good year was on the small ones.
- Was very disappointed to see the midfield of Tuck, Johnson and Tivendale. Not enough.

I know he did not do that much, but I actually thought it was one of Tiv's better games.

I am not really a fan of him at all, so maybe I have just got the image in my head that he is not AFL standard, but I really did not mind his game last night. He has a nice kick on him.

Let me throw a challenge out there to you all regarding Brett Deledio, who always seems to get a pass from the Tiger faithful where the other young players such as JON, Tambling and Raines get a bit of grief. Now before I go on, not saying that Deledio is as ordinary as JON or Tambling for example. Now, Deledio has the skills, he has the pace, he is generally a great kick and he just looks like he should be an elite mid fielder. However during his time at Richmond, very very rarely have I seen him take a game by the scruff of its neck and turn a result for us. We get some glimpses from him where he might kick 4 or 5 goals in a game, or a game where he is playing thru the mid field using his pace and breaking the lines. However these games are way to few and far between for my liking. Deledio needs to break out this year and be a dominant player in the competition. Maybe half the problem is Terry Wallace being indecisive in how to use him, maybe he can't adjust to playing with other duds (but that has not stoped Foley). I still think that Deledio can be an awesome player, but this season if he remains inconsistent, I think there should be a spotlight put on him from some of the Tiger fans.

Hey Brett - if you have a big year then guest appearances on the Footy Show will surely follow. Maybe even your own T-Shirt range.

If Deledio plays forward, he needs to play at CHF to have a bigger influence on the game. When he played on and around the 50 last night we played our best football through him.
