I have nothing against Shane Birrs and yes, players usually fire up against their old sides. BUT, how could you play him ahead of Brett Voss? This does not make any sense to me at all.

Not happy about this at all!!!!!

Having said that, I hope Birrs has a blinder and we win by a minumum of 40 points......and of course, no injuries.

Vossy is courageous. In years gone by, when he'd fly in front of an oncoming pack across the half back line for a big mark was inspirational.

But maybe RL is playing the more likely future lineup.

Breet Voss is past his use by date at AFL level. This was highlighted by his performances in general for season 2007. Birss is more likely to contribute than voss at this stage.

You might want to look closer to your goal square for your problems tonight. A couple of non-contributors all night.
Oh, thankyou Captain Obvious!

Birss was way off base tonight, but I don't think Voss was the man to drop. Who then? Fiora played really well, Blake is never going to be dropped, so, hmm, X? Why wasn't Ball out there?

Nothing wrong with playing Birss. He has been better than Thommo, Mini and Armo this year and they are the players who he is competing with for a spot.

The big selection mistake was playing Jones. He is just not up to AFL level. Fumbles the ball, can't kick, can't handball, is always second to the ball and is pushed aside in contested situations. Playing Thommo may have gotten us an extra goal or two.

Birss has been playing for the last 2 weeks and has been doing well.

I don't understand why you've decided to come out now?
