Ooooh to close.

Umpires really didn’t like blowing the whistle

Shout outs to
-Windy
-Chito

Just busted a gut the whole games

Ro and Jones
- immense

Wilson Clark started strong think they must have had a knock or two.

Sincs , McRae , just exactly what we needed.

Keels - will better for it. Tough gig coming up against the cats defence.

Cama and LOC. both had their moments. Battles departure left a hole and it’s become a bit difficult but those two I think in the short term at least can maybe cover it. Liam especially I think he’s got such a solid base to start with. I think he’s really gonna start to develop very quickly just as he plays more games and the Sky is really the limit especially with these Irish guys who start kind of role-play and they start to build their offensive game but his baseline of just contest size strength power is just quality.

Lance like Keels , so pleased to see him score a couple.

Macrae has been amazing two weeks in a row

Windhager starting to get going

Keeler put in some hard yards for a young bloke. Did really well to stay on the ground then took a match saving Mark. He's made of the right stuff!!

Team effort, pressure was quality, no passengers. All the experienced heads really stood up. Roma, Wilkie, Wood, Macrae etc all fired.

Windy was huge, needs to be a permanent fixture of our midfield going forward. Chito an absolute beast, gotta be pound for pound one of the strongest in the comp.

Hammer stood up big time in the 4th, brave call by the club to drop Cordy and move him back but he showed he’s got real potential as a KPD.

Collard’s best game to date. Busy first half and has great goal nous. Feel he will be a confidence player so hopefully takes a lot from this performance.

Great win, time to back it up vs the Tigers.

The value of stockers chase down tackle was game saving, at a period when we were dominating can't be understated.
Webster had a huge smother that was game saving.
OConnell mark, standing in the hole was game saving.
NWM getting a toe on it was game saving.

A lot of little moments won that game. Love it. Don't care about the comeback, the defense can reflect on that and see what they can do. Geelong may of had plenty of shots at the end but every single one was pressured

Owens presented the lead like a god that game, really rose to the occasion without King and Sharman, and Marshall and Hammer not being used forward.

I love that we seriously butchered the last five minutes and still managed to win. So many learnings but still got the four points.

Some heroic efforts in the last few minutes despite some really bad errors.

Loved Hammer's game. Macrae is what we've been missing for years. Also Wood was enormous.

Just an epic win given the circumstances.

YEEASSSSSSS!!!!!!!

A few more articulate take aways:

1. We play better at Docklands than Adelaide. So we should be 2-3 after five rounds 🤯
2. The strength of Marshall and Owens made a huge difference, particularly in the first half. We need to get Marshall fit.
3. Jack Higgins should never have a drop punt set shot for goal again. No matter where he is picking from.
4. Poor old Keller got his first goal and the (almost) last mark but in between got bathed. Yet he’s obviously going to be a gun!
5. Zac Jones has regressed 10 years in aged and it was magic.
6. There was not one holding the ball decision I can remember seeing tonight. One has to question the purpose of a tackle now.
7. CARN SLIKDAHHHHHH!!!!

Edit: 10/10 O’Connell’s mark! 😍

Stocker is going to be a cult hero here.

Guy is though as shit and is a legit Ross Lyon player, discarded from his drafted team and yet finds a way to be a best 22 player.

Thought we were just desperate last 4.20 minutes. Everyone behind the ball, nobody scores a goal against a RL coached defence
The O'Connell mark, the Keeler mark, the absolute desperation to defend the lead.

Yeah absolutely, just thought we had a few really costly turnovers and poor decisions in that time when we could have gotten the sealer. Can't fault the desperation though, the players were out on their feet and held on it was incredible to watch really although I think I just lost about 5 years of my life due to heart issues.

Marshall is back
Midfield starting to work. Still feel like need an alpha as steele ain't that. Maybe pou?
Forward will be dynamic long term with collard and keeler.
Backline will be better long term. Echo the thoughts about caminiti and Irish. Add in Barrett and the flying Viking.
We had a game plan and it was only tiredness as the game went on that lead to not following it. We will improve if we work these angles more and more. Pressure and control.

Negatives
A few went missing when they came at us. Wood is still better on the wing but maybe fwd as he gets older. Collard need to keep up the pressure. Hall didn't get involved till the second half.

The umpiring, almost handed the cats a win. Must get better.

Oh yeah, lots of kids and even older players panicked like shit, it was the longest 4.20 of my life, but some kids stood up, Hammer, O'Connell, Keels on one leg, all were hero's.
Macrae, taking a mark and skowing it down. If I had hair it would have turned white, but I will sure as shit enjoy the replay.
