Is the game based in Stillwater again?

....... and I hope they give us the British voice to choose from again ..............

Actually just watched that trailer above, based in Steelport :( but that dubstep gun looks sweet!
It's Steelport, but a Steelport overtaken by Aliens.

And they're doing 7 voices I believe (3 male, 3 female, 1 obscure) so very likely the Brit will be back.

The statue looks pretty cool!

I don't know what it is but I never really felt that connected to Johnny Gat (never played the first game, only the second and third) but I know heaps of fans were sad to see him killed off

Soooooooo in SR3 you could shoot people in the groin, streak for cash, **** even beat people to death with a ******* DILDO BAT and somehow that got through?

Not just that but it got an MA rating. They wouldn't even give SR4 an R rating.

Anyone know if this means the steam version will be censored/not sold to people in Australia?

What a ******* joke. So much for a R18+ rating.

Games can still be refuused classification, even with an R18 rating. I just can't believe this is one of them. They must have really been pushing it

Has to be something to do with the fisting machines.

That'll do it

Yes, it's been reported that they are working on changing up a few things to get the ratings approval.

There were fisting machines in Saints Row 3.

That kid is just wrong.

Those wanting to buy it on Steam - have someone purchase it from overseas where the game is not banned and steam trade you the game. I've done that on games that were banned or programming altered (e.g. The Witcher 2) and you get the full unedited version.

Steam will either not provide it at all to Australians (if it is entirely refused classification) or provide a censored version (if a modified version is classified). Left 4 Dead 2 is an example of the latter; a particularly galling example since it impacts on gameplay - rather problematic in a multiplayer game.

And that was also given an MA15+ rating as the R18 classification hadn't been implemented yet!

Mind boggling stuff. Why have an R18+ classification if you are just going to ban things anyway?

I think people need to read the text in regards to why the game was banned.

Remember, SR3 and SR4 are DIFFERENT games. Just because one passed through and had x amount of stuff in it, doesn't mean the next one should when it's a different game. Obviously Volition have made changes that affected the rating of the title.
“In the Board’s opinion, Saints Row IV, includes interactive, visual depictions of implied sexual violence which are not justified by context. In addition, the game includes elements of illicit or prescribed drug use related to incentives or rewards. Such depictions are prohibited by the computer games guidelines.”
Neither of the 2 bolded items above were in SR3. There you have the reason why one was given a rating and the other was refused classification.

What was bannable before is still now, R18+ doesn't just give everything a free pass.

It should.

Have to agree with this - we have MA15+ and R18+ rated movies and tv shows that have either depict sexual violence or drug usage (or both) as well as a bunch of other mature adult themes. It just seems like double standards for different media IMO.

It shouldn't actually mean everything gets through.

There are still things that get turned down in other media streams (TV & Movies).

There will still be games which go over the boundaries. Whether this one has or not is another thing.
