SAINTS TO HUB IN NOOSA
Tom Morris reports

St Kilda will spend July in a hub in Noosa, players and staff have been informed.

Noosa is a two-hour drive to Brisbane then a 1.5 hour flight to Sydney.

It’s expected the Saints will play games in both capital cities but spend their weeks in Noosa.

They are likely to have another Victorian club join them.

The Saints could depart as soon as Sunday, though an option on Thursday night was to remain in Melbourne for another week to play against Geelong.
I know it's going to be hard on some of the players and staff and their families and yada yada yada, but it'd be bloody nice to get out of dreary, locked-down Melbourne and get a bit of sun for month.

Well it won't be Geelong then going off how they throw a tantrum any time they've gotta take the one hours drive to the MCG

Does that mean the Thu night game next week is at risk?
Playing Thu, two weeks in a row, get the brand out there - that's great for our club aa we hope to get more primetime games next year and more sponsorship/income for the club.
It's great when we're playing well and wins matter most, but we're a club in a ton of debt who need a shove on the business side.

From all reports, we will be staying at the RACV Resort with Carlton.

It seems odd to be in a hub with a team that we have already played this year, over one we have not.

That means only games against the 2 Qld teams and 2 NSW teams. A Vic team we had not have played yet would have meant 5 available games.

The only Vic side in QLD we won't have played in Essendon so a lot of travel is ahead of us
