Beyond disappointed. Was looking forward to bit of cheer given the circumstances here at the moment. Oh well. Might have to turn to drink.

Only thing I can take out is that we played terribly both weeks and we were still in it. And lost both due pretty much to our own mistakes.

We seem to be trying to play a fast expansive game. Looks good at times and we look dangerous. But our skill levels and connection lets us down.

Don’t know the stats but the amount of scores we have given up on turnover must be very high.

And those skill mistakes don’t allow us to take advantage of our better passages of play. So we are getting killed both ways. Can’t win doing that. But remarkably we have stayed in both games.

Going to have to let this sink in before more comment. Some bright things. Max Hall is heading for All Australian.

We are the masters of getting ahead ourselves, everyone around the club was suggesting how good we were looking. Guess what we are still a very poorly skilled/ordinary football side.

We have played and lost to two middle of the road teams and found ways to lose. Couldnt have had a worse start really.

Blind freddy could tell the game was going to quicker this year and it has basically found out way too many of our supposed first 23.

There is a long way to go, but my predictions re Ryan are looking solid. Great for a highlight moment, but he simply doesnt influence games when it matters.

Silvagni is slow and another turn over merchant, Flanders looks like a 2nd rate version of a midfielder and we still have no one in the forward line we can rely on to kick goals. WTF Lyon just doesnt return Nas to the HBF and play Windhager as a full time mid is ridiculous.

I repeat I am a fan of Lyon, but he wont get many more chances. You wouldnt think it was possible, but our skills seem worse than last year and we were once again cut up by a team prepared to handball outside the inner cricle to outside runners. It seems we are always 12 months behind game trends rather than leading them.

Not the reason we lost but we won't win shit in the long run until we have someone to cover King. Look forward to us discussing a loss because of King juggling the ball on set shots.

Loss today is mostly on abhorrent skills and too many passengers.

Questioning if Macrae is still required if we are not playing deepnfinals. His output is basically Steele before we went out to get Jack because we needed him.

I'd drop half the side. They aren't up to it effort wise. Flanders isn't good enough to play seniors. Silvagni is hopeless etc.

Coaches have got pre season horribly wrong. Not one line is working. The four key defenders doesn’t work. The forward mix is awful along with the structure and movement. without Hall we would have barley scored today. Seems to be a lack of pressure up there as well. Higgo’s pressure is a fraction of last year.

Hammer, Higgo, Sharman, McRae, Boxshall are all a mile of it.

Great to see NAS impact forward but gee we miss his influence on ball movement.

Didn’t mind Garcia’s game but he is no tough midfielder. More outside than inside.

I think he got everything he possibly could have out of the group in his first two years back, under the circumstances- tons of injuries and brutal draws to start the last two years, and a list getting younger by the year- but things have dropped off alarmingly since.

So is it a Ross problem, or has he handed the reigns to Enright and is his gameplan no good?

Very much a 2008 season vibe. That year stupidly the team made top 4 and got thrashed. That team had Lenny, Roo, Fisher, Gram, BJ and Dal.

This year, this team will get thrashed regularly. Outside Nas, Wilkie, Hall and Sinclair, the cupboard is pretty bare. So, unlike 2008, the team will be very ordinary.
