Stoked to have Liam Henry back. A genuine livewire. Hopefully his injury issues are behind him, and we get to see more of him. Could be an absolute game changer for us.

If he can play for the rest of the year, the team has instantly improved.
He is a player that could really be a game winner for us and now with players like Howard , King and Phillipou all due back soon we should really go on a extended winning run.
What I'm pleased to see is that we are not been restricted in scoring - hopefully we score more than 80pts / most games - last year we had over 13 games where we battled to score more than 80pts.
So far this year 4 of our 5 games we have scored more than 80pts where last yr in the first 7 games we only achieved it once.

With our better midfield display and having a wide spread of goal scorers hopefully we really get to blow teams away and King and Henry have not even played yet.

Travaglia becomes the first FRDP of the Lyon era not to play every game in their first season (not counting Tauru who has been injured).
Means more competition for spots which I guess is a good thing.
He’ll be back.

Quietly hoping Steele has a big one tomorrow night, I miss seeing him dominate in games.

Felt like I’ve barely noticed him the last couple of seasons, he’s been solid but used to stand out more, felt more damaging. Been a while since I felt like he was BOG.

Perhaps we’ve just got better pieces around him. Maybe it’s the difference between RTB and Ratt’s game style. He used to be a top 3 Brownlow contender.

2025 season so far:

It’s a bit early to get into season stats, and tbf, these are only slightly lower than his career stats, but I think he has a higher ceiling he could reach, esp. in the contest. Between Steele, Stock and Owens we have 3 bulls in each area of the ground I’d love to lean into more.

His tackling is his one wood so I’m always grateful for that. And he’s been banged up, but a fit, firing and damaging Steele would really tip the ledger for us, along with Macrae and Sinclair whilst the kids are developing and will have their ups and downs.

Agree. If he finds form our midfield looks as dangerous as it has for a long while, and that’s really been our problem for the last 15 years

Hugo running laps only, long convo with trainer and then Tony Brown, up the race. Looking a bit forlorn.
Keeler training with the forwards.
Hugo back talking to the trainer, looks upset, stretching his legs, now back inside.
Would expect Henry in. Arie with the backs. Boxshall may come in for Hugo.
Good to see O'Connell, Tauru and Clark in full training.
Pou in match sim.
At his age Hill is a running g machine, always keeps his width on the fat side, if it gets out, he is in miles of space.
Dodson has footy nous, long ball down the wing to a contest, he is out of position, so instead of trying to mark. He leaps and taps it to an unmarked Hill who hits up Keeler on the lead. Long term prospect and can football.
Doogs out there as well.
Clark looks to have some definition in his arms 😳
Really good to see so many LTI's on track.
No Rohan.
Jack Macrae, during match sim, gets his kick smothered by Irish. Says 'well done' as he plays on. The guy is all for encouragement.
Paddy Dow in the gym, looking happy.
Harvs doing a lot of work with the mids on centre bounce positioning.
Hugo back feeling better, went for a short run. Maybe illness more than I jury.
All over red rover.
Adios Amigo's.
Was Henry training forward or on the wing?

Personally I think Pou playing every game in his first season was a mistake. One not rectified till he played a brace of games in the VFL in the midfield well into his second season.

So maybe Lyon has changed his mind on gifting games to players when their form does not really warrant it. Plus in the VFL there is more freedom to play the player where he most needs to be for his development.

More like we have 5x 2nd year players on field already and Henry is ready to go. Lyon wants to win and Jones and Trav have been a bit quiet. That's all there is to it.

Competition for spots is also at a much higher level in 2025. Even though Saints made finals in 2023, the current mob have a much more talented, although a developing team.

We probably need to balance youth and experience if we want consistent performances.

I will happily swap Tobes and Alix with Harvey Langford. Just what we need.

They are at different stages of development, physically Langford is a ready to play 18 yo. Tobie & Alix have work to do grow more mature bodies.

Langford would have been great, but judge them all in about 3 years when they all should be physically ready for the game.
