The Boxcar does look big bodied. He won't be rag dolled. I was wondering if he could fill in for Webby (both 188cm) if he is out, but it seems that he is a mid only? And Webster has reach and defence craft.
He played in defence up until his final year, I believe. Thats why there’s also an element of upside as you could see some natural midfield nous and some areas he could improve. But I don’t think he’s played the Webster role.

I wouldn't be dropping Hall or Travaglia, they played well enough last week to keep their spots.

Hastie is more likely to be dropped for Stocker, Hastie hasn't staked a claim to stay in the team.

Stocker should play and play on SPP. If Webster is out, all of the other >190cm defenders are attacking and not so defensively minded.

Young t***ies (yes I'm THAT immature sometimes) should be staying in and it will be over poor old Gus. Ross shouldn't be so Hastie to drop him but it feels like he's got a bit of a way to go to get Ross' confidence.

Windy should go to JHF.

Happy to see Keels named, especially at his favourite back pocket spot!

Hall simply cannot be dropped, no chance in hell unless he's injured which I doubt.

On form, no way Jones gets dropped. So we have Stocker, Jones and Hall as the ones I think definitely stay in. TT should stay in.

Leaves one to pick out of Collard, Boxshall, Boyd and Hastie. I'd suggest Lance stays in, Hastie on standby in case Webby doesn't get up.

I'd love to see Boxy get a run, for some reason I think it would be a fantastic game for him with the way Ports midfield plays. Feels unlikely though.

After all of that....

Outs: LOC, Hastie**
Ins: Steele, Stocker

**replace Hastie with Webster if injured

Looks pretty simple at selection. Hastie probably goes out and Trav to sub.
Box gets a run if Steele doesn't get up, Hastie if Webby doesn't.
Boyed for ruck cover, and the rest watch it on TV from Melbourne.

Someone on the Poart board said they're 38-0 at AO against bottom 8 teams. They're definitely flat track bullies but it has to come to an end one day and they're not looking solid atm. If we can be with them at half time we should be able to run them into the ground, and last l looked we are not in the bottom 8...

No but they are.

Interesting that instead of saying ‘why are they picking X’ it now seems to be ‘why are they not picking Y’.

Big change, and evidence of our improving depth. Going to be a few unlucky boys missing selection this week. Good.

Given Port's current form, if game were at Marvel we probably go in favorites. I think they are gettable this week, they would be warm favorites but if Saints play it right (and I don't know what game plan that is) gettable. Would be a very good game to pinch cos the next few weeks looks tough.
