The Saints are set to win the flag next season, with the big guns set to make a huge season, we'll be unstoppable, even by essendon!!!

Your name says it all

I'm being a bit petty here, but I really hope the Saints fall flat on their faces next year. Everyone expects them to do so well just because Blighty has joined up, and they've picked up a few good players. I'm not happy with Blight's decision to join a team he criticized so strongly in the past, considering he was s'posed to be so burnt out.

well charlie!!
They're not gonna fall flat, caus the only way they can go next season is up the ladder, we cannot get any worse can we???
Ya TOOL!!
You'r just a toss pot aren't you?
You name should be TheUltimatew***er

Oooooh - that hit a nerve, did it? Well, I must be pretty stupid, cos I'm actually replying to you. I meant that as people are expecting them to do so well, I hope they don't come come up to expectations.

Yep, your a clown!

Dont expect Blighty to be saints coach in 2002, if yous dont make the finals. hell propably say hes run out of gas in footy, then in 2002 hell take charge of the Wooden spooners of that year, Collingwood

Blight saw the writing on the wall at Adelaide and got out quickly. After last years performance by the crows and a bottom four finish in 2001 Blight's decision to leave will be vindicated.

In the Saints he saw an under achieving team with a group of talented youngsters, some superstar players, aggressive recruiting campaign which netted some quality players, a formation club rich in history but craving success, a vibrant new and aggressive comittee.

If he could bring the ultimate success to our club his place amongst the coaching elite would be assured. Blight can see that the momentum at St Kilda is moving forward and the future seems bright, can the same be said for Adelaide.

Well said StrengthThroughLoyalty,

Whether we succeed or not next season, our administration have given our club every possible opportunity to turn things around.

Exciting times are ahead!

Strength Through Loyalty. Your post proves to me that Blighty is a front runner. Happy to be around if success is guaranteed, but not prepared to cop rough times. "Loyalty" doesn't seem to feature prominently in his vocabulary.

Crows54, unfortunately the only true loyalty in football is shown by the supporters. I think it's fair to say that most crows supporters are pissed off that Blight left and his replacement is an ordinary coach at best.

To hope that the saints fall flat next year is just pure envy, you can see our club is being proactive and generating some excitement, when deep down you know that the crows are in for more of the same if not a worse year than last season.

We have all felt betrayel when someone we admire and respect leaves the club. I still have not completely recovered from Plugger leaving.

I don't hope the Saints fall on there faces next year. I hope they make the GF & get beat by Adelaide again (ahhhhh what a beautifull dream). That would be fitting. I actually like the Saints about as much as you can like another side.

As for Blight. I was BITTERLY disappointed when he quit 1/2 way thru 1999. But that is ancient history now. If he can get $1 Mil/year for coaching the Saints; good on him. He is his own man. He was the most important factor in our two flags & I will always thank him for that.

As to how we will go next year. Who can really say? 1 or 2 teams always suprise & move up & 1 or 2 teams always disappoint & move down. We now have a young squad with only 4 players over 27 years.

Our biggest problem last year was converting forward 50 entries into goals. The club was in the top 2 or 3 for forward 50 entries nearly all season. If we can overcome that then we are a show.

The 1st 6 rounds will tell. If we are 3 & 3 then we are in good shape. If we are 0 & 6 (which given the draw is a possibility) then the club will be faced with doing the so called soft club act & sacking the coach mid season or waiting until the end before appointing Neil Craig.

The up side is that at the moment we are equal top with 0 points.
