I've simmered down a bit. The punishments aren't anywhere near as bad as they could've been in the end, and the club will still be in a good position at the start of next year.

What gives me the shits is that our club and the individuals in question will always have this stigma attached to them for the rest of their careers, and we've essentially bargained our way down so that none of them (barring Doc Reid at this point) are in a position to challenge that.

Haha got banned again from BB for writing bad stuff apparently, even though the mods vet my comments first. Apparently it's now for writing bad stuff on twitter, which is so inaccurate it's funny. Now I remember why I left that place first time. We may have unearthed a new possible afl chairman there though, so that's a good thing I guess.

So what happens when Hird comes back on August 25th next year and we are in the final round of the season? Does he take over? Or does he wait until 2015?

I have defended this club to the hilt but I am struggling to find any sense in what we have seen tonight. For me its a simple issue - we either believe we are innocent & then need to fight to the death, take the AFL to court & risks the AFL trying to expell us from the league OR we know we've broken rules & every single person involved including the 4 charged should have resigned months ago. This scenario is just about as completely messed up as you could get. We coudln't possibly have handled it any worse. I just can't find any love for the club right now. The points & picks were the most important things for the club & its future. I don't care If corcoran (who should never have been allowed near the place again & whom I believe is the MOST responsible of the 4) was expelled for life or better yet charged with criminal negligence. I don't care if Dr Reid had to step away from the club because frankly I believe his ignorance of sports science is a factor in why the club was a decade behind the competition & probably a reason why Dank was so secretive. as For Hird & Bomba again I come back to the simple innocent then fight or guilty & don't ever come back. What annoys me the most about both is that all along they hid behind a mythical secrecy agreement with ASADA that was obviously not enforceable but basically meant that they kept promising the truth but never ever provided any of it. The club simply allowed the AFL & media to completely dictate terms & then when it came time to fight back we rolled over. As it stands we are absolutely guilty now. Nothing will change that so the people responsible should be replaced. Little has to go as well. His grandstanding did NOTHING but cause more pair through flase hope, bring further scorn on the club & probably if anything increased the penalties. As for "my mate Andy" David Evans I am extremely disspointed in his cowardise. He had the opportunity to expose the AFL's corruption very early in the piece & chose his friendship & business interests over the club. He sold us down the river just as certain as his father bent us over by not taking the AFL's moratorium on the salary cap & instead furthering himslef in the AFL. These rich businessmen may be nessesary for the club but I don't believe we've had one for a long time who's really represented the club as its needed.

Yes I'm angry & extremely dissillusioned right now. I will not be going Saturday night as I cannot bring myself to attend a farce. I'm going to have to try to find some way I can justify to myself a reason to continue suporting this club & game. Thats not the AFL & media getting their way - thats being LIED to by your club & hero. Yes Hird lied to us when he promised "we will be in a good place". No matter what the deal was, it IMHO is dishonerable to have even sat at the table to deal if even half of what we suspect about the AFL's corruption is true. If the AFL threatened deregistering the club then FFS come out & tell the world about it. Maybe just maybe get some postive PR out of the PR people we have paid for NOTHING! Get some actual service out of the Lawyers we paid to do NOTHING! If the AFl threatened the palyers then again expose the blackmail & take them to court.

I can understand why the AFL have done what they've done. I can even understand why scum like Wilson & Smith act like they do. I cannot understand why the club has done what they've done & I cannot in good conscience accept it. I don't think I can ever feel the same way about the club again.

Hypothetically speaking, what happens if next season we get top 4 or better still make the GF, or lets get even more crazy optimistic and WIN the bloody thing, why would we want to change coaches back to jimmy?

Why change a winning formula, wouldnt the new coach feel hard done by?

i would love hirdy to come back so this isn't really what im thinking, i am just asking the question, what does everyone else think?

OK the Club and the likes of Hird, have a responsibility to tell their stories in full. We need to hear and have a right to it.

Go Bombers.

Hope we smash those feral farks on Saturday. After that, a smart trade or two (for players who want to go, don't chuck these guys out) to make the best of our draft situation.

Then bring on 2014. Look out AFL, our boys are gonna be pissed (think 2000)

Whatever it takes

After listening to both press conferences and wanting to beat down on AD multiples times I have come to the following conclusion.

- The players were what changed the attitude of EFC. Paul Little said as much in the press conference, the players made it clear they want this finished and not to linger. This left EFC and Little in a position whereby court action would not be the best option.
- Once this was established, it meant EFC had to bargain with the AFL, it also meant if Hird wanted to definitely coach again he could not let it linger either.
- From what I can gather, we gained out of negotiation that EFC would not sack Hird, that we kept a first round draft pick in 2014, that we would not be stripped of points this year, Corcoran's suspension to be reduced and several charges dropped. The new charge sheet would be released and the VFL team would not receive any sanctions.

When you consider the club must put the players first, especially after everything they have gone through and that the players wanted it finished, it left the club with one hand tied behind their back. Knowing this it could have been worse.

Do I think it's complete and utter bullshit? Yes. I do however understand what has changed the clubs attitude and caused them to bend over.

We will rise again, Hird will coach again, players are free to play and we must remain solid and united behind the club. It's what has made us great and it's what will make us great again.

After Hirdy states that he gave his word not to discuss the ASADA investigation, and we now give our word to give him his job back. What standards do you work too?

One thing i am pissed about is how we have claimed andy 'fatman' to have called us b4 we come forward? then in his presser he's just said bombers come forward on their own? is he really THAT powerful that we can't keep persuing this? or did we just lie about it to see what happens?

Feel quite relieved after all this tbh. It's over.

I do believe little is the best man to be leading us for no, so he has my vote for now. We have stood by James and not thrown him under the bus.

We cop the fine which is going to hurt very badly. But it's people like us who can help alleviate that pain. I'm already debating whether to walk into the club at some stage and see if can donate some money to help.

Draft picks is now as ba as it could have been. We managed to get the pick for next year. And we can always trade back in of player want to leave. Plus we have an ok strike rate with late round picks.

I :hearts: Kong, please return :(
Sorry mate, I'm done.

Done with footy for the year. I'll be damned if I'm going to care about a finals series that's been compromised by its administration.

I'm done with the AFL and supporting it in any way.

I'm filthy with this club, and the false hope that they gave us all year, and the promise to tell their side of the story, only to accept an absolute pounding that punishes its two innocent parties (the players and supporters) more than anyone, and still not give us their story that would enlighten us all.. I'm not done with the club, because I hope that they'll show us some respect and actually explain things to us in the coming days.

But I'm so disenchanted right now.

Vlad crediting the AFL integrity unit for uncovering the supplement program.
Newsflash dick, the ACC were originally investigating the activities of the bikies, but instead stumbled across the EFC invoice/money transaction for the supplements... Then the AFL became involved.

Would surely come back as an assistant, not straight back as senior coach. Might then take the mantle in 2015.
