Wrong. If we want who-ever the father son is, then we have the right to use our next available pick on them. Eg. if Daniher was this year & GWS wanted him at #1, we could nominate to pick him up with our first selection in the draft which would be a 3rd round pick.

Thank god for the Jimmy Hird academy in place

I know that we all have a right to be angry, especially at the club for what happened in 2011-2012, but some of you need to pull your ******* heads in. All this shit like "gonna vote Little out", "we took it up the ass" etc. is stupid. He did all he could under the circumstances, for all we know the AFL may have proposed something like:

- No points for 2013-2014. You finish last on the ladder and are forever labelled as wooden spooners for these years.
- Hird banned for life.
- $5 million fine
- No picks for three years.

Essentially, we may have been hit with a HTB type punishment. We don't know what happened that forced Little to backtrack. It may have been the AFL and their dirty tricks, they may have threatened to persecute on Thymosin-beta 4 if we didn't back down. We may never know what was the reason we backed down, and one thing for sure is that Little wouldn't come out and say "we copped it up the arse because the AFL threatened with this and that, and they are corrupted ******s". Imagine Little came out and said "we view these punishments as grossly unfair bla bla bla", imagine the media shitstorm. He would just be giving Caro and Fatprick more ammunition to slag us off if he said that. It's basic PR management.

The punishments suck. What happened at the club was pathetic, and we are now paying the price. As I said before, it could be WAY worse. We could have had players being canned for two years. We may have been facing certain extinction. The worst thing we could do is turn on the club and become another Richmond, and put ourselves in a downward spiriling shithole. It's fine to question the club, but calm down.

We are Essendon. A $2 million will not destroy us like it would to Bulldogs, North or the Demons. History will go down and show us as finishing 9th and not 18th and on 0 points. And to top it off, Hirdy will be back next year. He will definitely be back to lead us into September and hold up #17. It sucks, but come round 1, 2014, all of us will be eager and excited to watch our players come out and play without an ASADA/AFL cloud hanging over our heads
What a load of shit. You don't come out saying shit like the club did unless you're supremely confident. If AFL pulled something to turn the table then it just shows how stupid little was to think he could win. Only he and a elect few know, but they are 100% accountable for misleading the supporters. They made themselves look like someone who told everyone they're gonna fight the bully after school and then ran scared when they saw him coming. Pathetic and embarrassing.

I don't doubt that Little basically got us the same punishment as the one we would have got if Evans had stayed on. But I don't think the charge sheet would have been released if Evans had stayed on, and Little shouldn't escape criticism for that.
I think what Little was fighting for was the wording of charges, rather than penalties. The penalties horse bolted long ago, Little was fighting (rightly or wrongly) for the wording on the charges and acknowlegement that we haven't cheated.

Not saying it's right, but I don't think Little deserves a lot of the critisisms, he's come in in the toughest spot possible, and we don't know what the AFL were proposing

Well now is the time the club including James Hird come out and explain their side of the story. We deserve to know
If we can. There was no word of confidentiality clauses, but it doesn't mean they aren't there.

This is tough. I won't be commenting tonight while I digest it but at least we now know what the sanctions are.

I know where he works. Haha

All seriousness:That's all I'm saying about this topic as I seriously don't want blood on my hands because of a stupid raging Essendon supporter with a score to settle. An we all complained about media annoying Hird and his young family, Robinson family is innocent too and they don't deserve that either. An if any supporter does something stupid like that is the lowest of lows that can be linked to the EFC.
I meant the AFL. You can't have all sorts thrown at guys who should have had SOME idea about what was happening and not absolutely flog the guy who should have known EVERYTHING

This is an interesting issue. Bomber not coaching on the weekend could suggest his feelings on the matter. If he wanted to coach and give his own **** you to the AFL you'd think he would have put his hand up in a snap. Wouldn't surprise me if it's Simon Goodwin with Bomber continuing his mentoring role, and I wouldn't be unhappy with that - So Much Goodwin :)
Goodwin has been prepare the team this week neither Bomber or Hird had any input, Bomber need to settle down mentally first after this instead of taking over a stressful job as coaching.

So I don't know how you think his feels say he is unlikely to coach 2014

AFL media confirmed that the AFL has told AF Vic (who run the VFL) to NOT penalise the Essendon VFL team.

So everyone has a duty to get down to North Port Oval on Sunday and support the boys in their elimination final against Werribee.
Do you have a play a certain number of games to qualify? If not, should just load up with senior players.

Just one question for Little:

"Do you believe the penalties we've accepted are fair?".

If he says "yes", was the club full of shit all year with the optimistic talk ?

If he says "no", then why have we accepted unfair penalties?
