AFL 360:
Robbo "Now, we all hope Essendon will be cleared"
Gerard "NO NO NO NO NO"

What is this guys problem?
His personality reminds me more of Frank Grimes by the day.

The straight do-gooder that society never accepted, who was eventually driven to become a bitter, spiteful individual targeting the antithesis of his own persona.

In this scenario, I wish we could get Hird dozing in front of 360 one night, mumbling "change the channel, Marge."

I'm not at all clear why Essendon are supposedly 'bound to silence' during this investigation, especially as representatives of the club keep publicly expressing confidence in everything being ok and ASADA have said previously that players interviewed are free to talk about the interviews (for example).

This isn't like a criminal case where parties are required to avoid prejudicing potential juries - the only 'jury' that matters here is the AFL tribunal, who are presumably expected to be professional enough not to be swayed by public comment.

So let's say - hypothetically - Essendon was given the approval from ASADA back in 2012 to use AOD-9604 the way it did. What would be the harm in publicly releasing that information (preferably accompanied by sufficient proof) ?
Yes that is something that I have wondered for some time. My best guess (hope?) is that ASADA have told EFC and the players that they will not prosecute for AOD9604 because they had given the all clear to use it, but they are embarrassed about that, especially in the face of WADA's strong line on AOD9604 definitely coming under S0. They have asked Essendon to not make that public. They then have to come up with a good reason for exonerating Essendon without admitting their mistake publicly.

Depends on the time frame he was referring to, if it was when the events were taking place then no. If it is current, then maybe.

I've bought this up several times in this thread and the media seem to have completely ignored this angle but the reason the ACC got involved in the first place was because of organised crime. Dank buying AOD from a registered chemist would not have appeared on their radar, so there must be some other reason for the ACC to have noticed the goings on at Essendon. It probably involves Dank, but every time the club or the AFL mentions the investigation they refer to it's complexity so who knows what actually happened. Trying to fit an unauthorized drug trial, criminals spiking supplements with banned drugs to use to blackmail players, AOD and whatever else into what we think we know is doing my head in.

I know this is Essendon only but really, just Google Doherty's Gym.

THAT is why all this has happened.

As you were, I'm off to rattle tins etc.

My guess as well. Have been thinking this for a good couple of weeks now.

Barrett said they maybe investigating a peptide that would violate S2
I'm sure they did. In fact I'd be surprised if they didn't test everything under the sun at the club for traces of steroids and cocaine or some shit like that.

Of course the fact that it is part of routine once an investigation starts wont stop the Essendon Players Tested For Testosterone, Steroids, HGH and Meth headlines from those flogs.
