NEWSFLASH...

Hird doesn't like our traditional rivals and enemy Hawthorn.
Hird wanted EFC to be the best club in the competition.

Oh boy Wowee.. what an evil mastermind

Someone stop this.. please... just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.. 6 mins of air time to tell us what exactly? That EFC wanted to emulate the top sides through a LEGAL supplement program??!!

Lol...that 7:30 report article had NOTHING damaging short of the dodgy music and the reporter over the top telling us that what was going on was bad.

Talk about a VERY blatant cash in on the Channel 7 report that's coming out tomorrow. I thought our actual national broadcaster would be above this, but I guess not.

Robbo alluded to off the record info and Gerard whately has turned around as well admitting he was wrong about AOD9604. I have more respect for these guys who have the capability to admit errors of judgement and change their mind when further info comes to mind. Caro on the other hand keeps beating the same drum
gerrah wheatley said he was wrong about what he said about aod?

I think the most worrying things from the 7.30 story are the fact that Hird almost sounded paranoid about the Pies and WCE, and that Dank seems to have had a lot of free reign to do what he liked.
That's not true - a protocol was set. I'm sure we're all aware of the clauses a supplement needed to meet to be used. Eg ASADA compliant and so on..

Yeah he originally believed Essendon players should be penalised but received info from ASADA that changed his mind and he said he didn't believe Essendon players would be prosecuted over use of AOD9604 or receive infraction notices. AFL360 on Monday nights is the best show

Nice work Emma:

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/to-bomber-fans-hird-no-villain-20130730-2qxfe.html

Loved your thumping finish "He has never given Essendon people any reason to doubt him, which is why they won't start now."

Keep up the good work. :thumbsu:
The middle paragraphs sum up something else rather well, too:

But online especially, there seems no room for opinions unless they are extreme, particularly when it comes to a name as big as Hird. Twitter, Facebook, blog sites - everyone has a voice, a way to vent. So at one end of the reaction scale we have the anti-Essendon brigade, seemingly delighted that the ''golden child'' has found himself in this predicament and quite happy to tell the Essendon fans how deluded they are and what they should really think of their coach and club.
Some Essendon fans would probably be doing exactly the same thing to supporters of Collingwood or Richmond, or any club caught in a similar scandal.
At the other end are the one-eyed Bomber fans, struggling to comprehend the thought that their club might - at the very best - have made some major mistakes. Some are focusing their anger on the media - almost as if there were journalists at the club last year injecting players.
The emotion and desperation for someone to blame is understandable, but has become over-the-top and ugly. For some supporters, things have swayed from the original, most pressing question: what substances were the players given, and were they banned or not?

Last year Sam Lane did a piece on Hawthorn leading the way as far as injections go. We also all remember that ASADA thought Collingwood players were on drugs which is why they went all the way to America to drug test Dane Swan.

West Coast is known for their drug culture, so if there players were on cocaine who knows what else they were taking.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they used the same music that they use when doing a feature on paedophiles.

Hawthorn have a doctor stationed at Olympic Park medical centre who carries out the process of removing players blood and storing it. The blood is spun to get the plasma out and when player is injured he has this injected. This is the article that the age ran last year. ASADA have ticked off on this - Nick riewoldt spoke of receiving weekly treatment in his knee of this technique. Essendon and other club players also using it with performance enabling results - reducing injury times by weeks...

This makes me annoyed when I read criticism of injections - nothing wrong with that culture unless it is illegal.

You think mainstream media isn't all over the HT board and our own little effort?!!!

But Emma, I would urge you to remember that most of the hate against the media is because of their BIASED and FACTUALLY INACCURATE reporting of events. EFC haven't been given a fair go and you would have to be the first to admit that your employers and supervisors have been close to the worse offenders.

No Journalists did not administer the supplement program at EFC last year.. but NOR do Journalist know there was anything wrong with that program yet. So why is the presumption of innocence cast aside so rapidly and easily at the whim of anyone with a keyboard?? That is what the one-eyed supporter takes issue with. Where is the media sticking to facts and reporting with an even sense of justice and fair play?

At the end of this saga.. it is far more likely that Journalists will have broken more laws, hurt more players and people than the EFC supplement EVER did.
