North [pronounced Nawrth]
noun
1. a cardinal point of the compass, lying in the plane of the meridian and to the left of a person facing the rising sun. Abbreviation: N
2. the direction in which this point lies.
3. (usually initial capital letter) a region or territory situated in this direction.
4. [pronounced Norf] An irrelevant club in the AFL that was founded in 1869. Their supporters are often jealous of other clubs and therefore spend large amounts of their time hating to attempt to bring others down to their level. They believe that some type of magic spirit resides in the lower legs of its players, and often call out to these spirits during games in an attempt to invoke them. The accidentally mixed up the Scott twins when appointing their most recent coach, but didn't pick up on this until after granting him a contract extension. Having realised they made a mistake not moving to the Gold Coast in 2008, they are peddling themselves around to any other state or country that will have them, without much success. For a long time it was accepted that Norf supporters are less evolved, and recent studies performed by leading anthropologists have now found that Norf supporters genetically predate Homo Sapiens and instead are related directly to Neanderthals.
