Anyone care to reassure me here (or give me some reasons as to why it is not happening)? Very little is coming out of the players lately considering their early boisterous backing of Hird and the club. Possibly the only thing that has me worried.

This is basically the only backing I have seen over the past two weeks. A retweet by Goddard (embed didn't work, imaged it).

Enjoy.

You dont have so many core players uncontracted at this time of the year.

This is the issue.

Not about Hird or Demetriou or Barack Obama.
Who are the "core" guys? The ones who might attract top picks if we are stripped?

Out of contract (according to both bf club board threads):

Essendon_______________GEELONG
Bellchambers____________ Bathie (r)
Browne____________________ Bews
Colyer_____________________ Blicavs (r)
Crameri_________________ Burbury (r)
Davey_____________________ Chappy
Davis______________________ Christensen
Dell (r)____________________ Corey
Hardingham_________________ Cowan
Hille_______________________ Eardly (r)
Hooker__________________ Enright
NLM ________________________Guthrie
NOB ________________________Hamling
Pears_______________________ Hunt
Winders_____________________ Kersten
Steinberg ? (r)_______________ McCarthy
Hunter ? (r)_________________ Motlop
Dalgliesh ? (r)________________ Murdoch
____________________________Pods
____________________________Schroder
____________________________Sheringham (r)
____________________________Simpson
____________________________Walker (r)

Pretty similar numbers if you ask me. Crisis down at Geelong I haven't heard about?

I want to keep Davey and rate him more than a lot of people on this board, especially when he gets continuity. However put bluntly if he wanted to leave it wouldn't be the biggest loss.
you might've missed my point. I was saying 2 more games for Davey to get him to 100 and access to his boys under father son (should they be good enough and want it bad enough) given he has.... what.... 4 of them?

I personally am looking forward to the super human race of footballers the father son rule brings to the club in the future. Can't out mark a guy with 4 arms and eyes in the back of his head.

Brings a whole new aspect to diversity round too.

No

You really think that is the situation that Hird finds himself in? That he is completely without blame in this?

Anyway, I am not looking to argue about this, things just need to be sorted & sorted fast.
Hird feels he's been treated unfairly, and he feels strongly enough about the situation to take court action.

Based on what I've heard so far Hird wasn't in charge of the department where the governance breaches occurred. He can't be in trouble for sitting in the initial interviews for Dank, or for requesting regular updates from the sports science department, that would be ludicrous, so how can he be made the fall guy for this? Honestly, I want to see some actual facts that show Hird has done wrong. I'm not going to change my opinion of him based on media reports and hearsay.

How many times can those fuarkheads on the HTB board bust their load over the mere smell of a anti-essendon article?

They must walk around in pain constantly.
I find life to be much better letting them foam with each other.

I have only ventured there about 3 times total, completely not worth it from my perspective. Some people enjoy it, I just can't be assed.

Melksham (for all my early misgivings) has turned into an important player for our club. We should not underestimate the importance of him signing. The club is still operating and going about its business.

I believe the players still love this club and want to be at this club. The new HPC is great and they are just looking forward to this being over and to enjoying premiership success. Put it this way.. would you rather be at St Kilda??

Only two of them are core players at the moment. Hooker and tbell.

Couple of youngsters who havnt been able to get a game and some old guys that would struggle to get a contract elsewhere. Not the end of days.

I do agree with you on draft picks though, however I don't think throwing our greatest living player under the bus to keep them is worth it. There are some things you don't do.

Read the list again.

Sounds like BS to me - Cerberus saying "smell a whiff of desperation" which would be in relation to the other side
Just a quick one. Does Cerberus have many runs on the board?

A lot of the statements that have been posted here at least seem fairly open ended statements that people then attribute to circumstances that arise. Bit like a cold reader throwing out broad saying to get a hit.
