Have we under estimated the impact of these penalties on the club ?
Its now roughly 10 years and I feel theyve had more of an impact than just lost draft picks.
They have damaged the mindset/culture of the club.We went from no spoon to plenty in the space of 3-4 years.
When was the last time you saw a player grab or kiss the jumper?
We've worried too much about who's coaching the players than the players we have to coach.
Ratten used to get criticised for barracking during the game, but what does this club mean to MM?
We've lost our way and I dont know that the people in charge are the ones to get us out of this malaise

The AFL will never punish another club as harshly regardless of what they do.

This is why it is only fair they make an example of Essendon.
I think people will look back at our penalties and realize the unintended consequences

If the AFL don't give the Dons a penalty as harsh or harsher than ours was I'd scream.... Our sal cap cheating only involved a handful of players and a couple of people in administration... Also considering most clubs broke the cap but confessed in the moratorium hence no punishment.

Here at Essendon regardless whether we believe the players didn't know it has involved every player on the list, the whole coaching staff and some people in admin...

What i don't get is that players had to sign confidentiality agreements and not one player asked why? Most clubs have sports scientists so if some drug/supplement is legal or a supplement program is legal most sports scientists would know about it and if feasible would administer it.. Not like it needs to be a secret...

The AFL are already trying to make deals with ASADA to prevent players from being suspended.

If it was us in Essendons shoes I have a feeling the AFL wouldn't be as helpful.

Look at the pitiful punishment Melbourne got for tanking.

We have had plenty of time to rebuild. blame has to go to recruiters. Hawks had a policy of recruiting aholes, blues have a policy of nice young men only.

there is some truth to this... pre-penalties I always expected to win, these days I expect to lose

Big big issues with the culture of the club these days, ratten was the scape goat to the real issue. lack of modern day winning culture.

also agree Essendon should receive a penalty = to what we received.
