Guys,

Not sure if this has been done but interested to know what your opinions would be on the salary bracket that you think each player should be in. Considering the salary cap is approx $6.5M I would be keen to hear how you would split....to keep it simple please base on 2007 alone and I will include rookies and % no veteran list exemptions. Hope this make sense...

As a side note $151K would be the average if you were to pay them all the same so use this as a base if you like. The number of nominations that I have included in brackets is important to keep things relevant to cap restrictions.....please stick to this rule

My thoughts are below. The brackets are:

60-100K Rookie/development or low utilisation in 2007 (15 nominations)
100 - 150K Novice (9 nominations)
151 - 225K Average (10 nominations)
225 - 300K Above average (5 nominations)
301 - 400K Essential (2 nominations)
401 - 550K Superstar club cannot lose (2 nominations)

You can swap Acklandd and Murphy around straight away for what they ARE getting... Ackland is on a bit, Murphy still getting the standard.

All that shows is we are gonna have trouble in 3 years!

if that was my list thats how id do it.
think murph is on a bit less than that.
deserves more than that though. lmao

Not the first snide remark you have made on this board. Gave you a chance to recover but now I think you don't offer anything. See ya!

Checkout the AFLPA website Pie-squasher:thumbsu:
It has all the details of the new pay deals that were negotiated after the last TV deal. It has all the minimum wage rates for rookies, first year players etc:)

now we got rid of trouble maker Elliott doubt we'll have any more problems now we can wipe the debt and become debt free :) debts don't last for ever :thumbsu:

Assuming we are sticking to 92.5% of the salary cap we have about $485,250 under the cap freed up.

Lappin is on around $300,000+ (last year of his contract), and I'm pretty sure Kouta's on similar money. Both are likely to retire at the end of the year.

Even if we're only sitting on 95% of the salary cap it still means that with the extra $400,000 boost to the salary cap next year (to $6.94 million) we should have easily around $1million freed up under the salary cap.

Which superstar is coming out of contract at the end of this year again? ;)

Of course the players would be expecting a pay increase (especially Murph) but still it bares thinking about.

Id give lappo another year. and wouldnt kouta be on the veterans?

judd judd judd!

Lappin has stated on several occasions that this would likely be his last year, and I'm happy with that given his form last year.

He said he has 22 games to get to 200 and if he does that he will consider retiring. Seems to have become a bench/impact player so far this year, so fair chance it will be his last & he will be out of contract (as he only got 2 years when he wanted 3).
