Yer i could see that happening

Yeah, It seems like a really good trade for both I reckon. But I guess with all these, we will find out all in the trade week. Out of interest when is the trade week?!

Salopek is contracted so i don't think he will leave anyway

Its the 2nd week of october

His value isn't high these days, as he can't stay fit and can't consistently make an impact when he is. Clearly has talent - always has.

He's the kinda guy who might need a change of scenery. Probably only has a year or two left to make it in the AFL, doesn't he?

Port might be interested in swapping him for another team's equivalent. A troubled/oft-injured under-performer who needs a change. Could work out for both teams.

I reckon there could be a trade done with the Bombers..could even be a straight player swap with the bombers giving port H.Slattery?!

Thoughts?!

No Thanks While I don t think Slatts is part of the team going forward neither would salopek how about we given port Hank for a round 2 pick upgrade

Depending exactly on when he signed his last dear he would be on a fair bit of coin you would think. I mean the 92.5% has to be spent somewhere?

I do think that he is one of are many average players that is getting paid more at port than he would anywhere else

Bump thought this is relevent considering his current cirucmstances

So he got picked for the Glenelg Reserves, Port say he isn't playing had he went home to Melbourne to consider his future

I think he is now worth a third rounder, Port will ask for a third rounder and upgrade of a second rounder, rebuttle with upgrade of third rounder and also

No word on his future yet, but unless Port can't get him to move SANFL clubs halfway through the year somehow or he starts getting AFL games i think he is gone

Could see him being one of the first ever free agents

Band 4? would be compensation (Pick right after our second rounder?)

If the Pies can get a third rounder for Fraser, Port will get a third rounder for Salopek.

Exactly

Port got pick 51 for C COrnes and Brogan, both have one year in them, Brogan will struggle to run the year out

Start the bidding around there.

What's his work ethic like

Average, not bad when he got dropped to SANFL reserves (apparently didn't attend a Glenelg social function and was a bit too FIGJAM) Primus was really in shock and said he was close to the Power team

His work ethic isn't bad, but wouldn't say its great either.

I might be completely wrong here, but maybe his form is just not good enough for Glenelg's league team. The Bays are going to do whatever is in the best interest of their club, and clearly they don't think they well benefit from him in the seniors.

Has Port got very low standards for him?

PS GO BAYS!!!!

Well i would wonder how someone would be around the mark for Power selection but not even close to league

Considering this comming draft is very deep a third rounder will probably be the best case scenario.

Given ports our way or nothing approach however...

I doubt they would be like that with Stephen if he wanted to go a third rounder would be fair or end of 2nd would be a bonus, it would be nicer for us as he was a high first round pick :)

Personally I think he's lost his leg speed for AFL, hum bug to the bays he was doing well enough i nthe league, he probably has taste and couldn't handle being around the local club probably paying out on Port all the time :)

I wouldn't mind Carlton having a look at him.

We've been shown up for a lack of depth, however this bloke hasn't played much at all the past 12 months and you wouldn't want to give up anything substantial.

This is a guy who can't crack into the current Port side.

Yep, talk of a 2nd rounder is out of the question I would think. He will be judged more on the now than 2010 which is when he last showed he could play.

I reckon a 3rd or 4th rounder in all probability. A token trade if you will.

I still think he has a lot of potential. Spreads well and has a good kick on him. But for some reason it just hasn't been coming together for him at all lately. Probably hasn't been given the chances he should've been given by the club to prove himself this year after an encouraging end to last year.

Just wondering what people would give for him?

As he is to me the type of player Port needs to move on (along with Surjan,Ebert,Pettigrew,K Cornes) and think that he would have the highest value of the lot?

I hope you've learned your lesson on wanting to get rid of a quality player after one bad year.

i heard that apparently Salopek has been traded to the Port Magpies for a $5000 transfer fee to glenelg ..

so we will see what happens with the 2nd half of the season to see what he is worth . (for all we know Glenelg was the problem)

Port have missed the boat on his trade value.

As it stands, his value is almost next to nothing.

3rd rounder at absolute best for a player who apparently is playing SANFL Reserves!

Should have traded him last season.
