Could there be at 18 but I doubt he would drop that far, I reckon Pies and Saints would be Keen on Blease
I'm aware that it's a long shot and I'm not expecting it to happen but he's my favourite, semi-plausible option with 18/20.

I am with FIGJAM on Blease, just doesn't look like a type of player the pies need and I know that Dave The Man loves him![]()
With Thomas in the side, I think they are two very similar players and you couldn't have them in the same line up. Both has pace, run and carry and pretty good footskills. But they will do that one thing in a match that will leave you scratching your head. They would also both be on the HFF unless Thomas plays mainly midfield, which I don't see happening for a while.
I have a Few Favorite Players in the Draft.Haha it is ok Dave, we all have a little man crush on someone in the draft. I just put two and two together because you talk about him a fair bit but that is fair enough. Hine will do what he does best and surprise us on the day no doubt.

Those Looks like at the Latest Mock Drafts, That Blease is Locked in to the Pies at Pick 11![]()
Ha HA very funny - I have a Yellow card but runs out TommorowSpeaking of mate... you haven't done one in a few days, what's going on?
Mix it up a bit mate, throw McKernan in there at 4, drop Vickery to Richmond and send Hill to Carlton! Have Mitch Banner in your top 10, have Rich drop to 25!
No Dave, he hasn't said this at all.I only going what I have heard and Hine has said that we are looking for a Outside Mid
No Dave, he hasn't said this at all.
In fact, he hasn't said anything at all!
When or where??FJ - I have actually heard him say it. Notwithstanding it doesnt mean it will be first selection in the draft. They could have someone tucked away for later.
I love J-Mac, but whether he is a Scott Burns replacement is unknown at this stage. I hope he will be.Remember they recruited for an inside ball winner last yr in McCarthy and having taken talls before that it isnt unreasonable to think it will be an outside mid.
When or where??
I heard someone say that Alan Richardson said it, but he isn't Derek Hine. We got Corrie after Richardson reportedly said it...just how many more flankers do we need to load up on?
The person who repoorted it after the SF loss said it was Alan Richardson.Someone Reported it after the Loss in the SF against the Saints.
Those I read that last year Hine said we needed a Ruckman and We got Wood at the end of the year.
I am unsure if Corrie is the Outside Mid he Meant?

I rate Pendlebury, Wellingham, Swan, Didak, Leon and Shaw (Barham?, Marty?, Cox?) as players who can rotate through the centre square and do good, but my concern lies in the 'first touch' field of centremanship. We've lost Burns and O'Bree is on the way out. Blease would fit in this oversupply of "inside linkers".
We literally cost ourselves a top 4 spot when a first year player played keepings off us in the west, because he could get more first touches than the rest of our team combined. I fail to see how it is not a priority!
Reliance on McCarthy and maybe Stanley (outside chance of being on our list next year), or in one of the "inside linker" players increasing their first touch ability is risky business. We need a genuine 'first touch' inside midfielder. If he can also show some tricks outside then all the better!

The time is too full. **** the exams...put us out of our misery!!Anyway all good debate and with the fullness of time we shall see.
Please.
Palmer is an excellent player, but he's not a "first touch" inside midfielder. We got whipped like we stole something in that game, but it wasn't because we didn't have the capability of stopping Palmer from getting his hands on it - We just played like hot garbage that night.
Palmer is top 25 in the comp in his first year for clearances. That doesn't necessarily signify first touch, but it doesn't hurt! Please.

While having better and more consistent players will help us, and we certainly need clearance players, I would have pointed to Hawthorn's ability to dominate us twice in 2008 as evidence that we need to beef up our inside ability - Not the Rd 22 game against Freo.
Spot On - He might not be an Extractor but Can work in Traffic and Once his Engine and Strength Improves that will get betterWhat I don't get is why Blease is pigeon holed as an outside runner because he's skinny and quick. In that WA game he won the ball in traffic with very clean hands a couple of times. I think he could potentially become a well rounded inside-outside mid.
It stems from the inside / outside paradox. It is a spectrum rather than a clear cut scenario. What I don't get is why Blease is pigeon holed as an outside runner because he's skinny and quick.
