and i dont get what everyone means by 'he wasnt on the table' i realise that he wasnt out of contract, but that is no big deal for WA and SA teams anyway, like if stenglein wasnt traded then there was no way freo or wcoast could pick him up in the draft. he would of stayed. so if we wanted to we could say we want butler (if this was who we wanted) or stenglein stays, there would be nothing wcoast could do, if they really wanted him they would ahve to cough up(within reason ofcourse).

we probably paid slightly above the market price for stenglein because we didnt want to trade butler/waters.

we probably could have traded one of them and a 2nd round pick for stenglein. but we obviously thought butler/waters are worth more than a 1st round pick. which they are because they have proven they can play AFL.

if u guys said u only wanted butler/waters no picks (which u did incidently) then we simply wouldnt have traded. despite the fact they are both quality young players, it would send the wrong message to the rest of the squad and future rookies if they were traded. something our CEO mentioned.

u dont know what we said so dont pretend you that we asked for those two without picks. and the CEO's say certain things, like fantasia did to make them look good. You put them under the crunch and then you see what happens.
