I don't think many fans have grasped just how much this changes the landscape. For 3 players to take up half the cap they'd need to be on around $2.9m each and nobody is paying that much to one player, let alone 3 players.

Players are going to want 45% more cash.

I think the best players are always going to take up 8-10% of the TPP regardless of what that number is. The bottom clubs will always have a heap of space to keep the top clubs honest and make sure of that.

He may be an absolute flog of a human but people forget how good Darcy was when he actually got on the park.

Luke Darcy was an excellent player. An effective ruck forward might get 10 touches and a goal a game, Darcy was a long way better than that. However the young Darcy projects to be something even better.

It's a great rule. Just like the academies and NGA, though I feel NGA needs to be tightened.

The problem is clubs bundling up shit second rounders to get top talent. Fix the draft pick points curve and force clubs to actually pay up for these players.

Players that tall usually start playing AFL much later in age. IIRC he pretty much demanded selection via VFL performances.

You're right, he did. He had a number of injuries, some were weird/unlucky ones - broken jaw, hole in his lung, otherwise he would have been playing seniors footy earlier and more consistently.
