At the time of the MSD we didn’t have 7 2024 national draft picks. Most of those picks only came once Rioli, Bolton and Graham decided to go. However if we had picked Davidson and he had succeeded then we could have traded for a future pick or brought forward the retirement of KMac or delisted Dow. At least we would be making the decision.

And fast fwd 6mnths and let's just say those 7 picks were dwindled down too just Riolis.
Which others with the addition of Dow & Kmac would you have delisted?
And plz don't say the retirees either bc at the time they were undecided.
Fact of the matter was.If we took more than 2 in the msd it would've impacted our capacity to get the maximum from our trades for Bolton etc.

How wrong did we get it though?

He has 56 disposals in 3 games. 27 are handball receives, 12 are uncontested marks. He has one goal, two assists and 17 score involvements(this number is healthy.) His tackle numbers are decent 10 in 3 games.

In 3 matches he has one solitary hard ball get. This is around the lowest levels in the competition. That looks his kryptonite at this stage and in big games teams will be looking to exploit it. Richmond probably knew this. Dogs probably thought they could cope with a player like that in their system.

So he provides elite outside run and link up. Exactly the type we need:

I see it as more of a positive that our VFL program is spitting out AFL players like absolute hot cakes.

We’d have to produced double the next best team in VFL players being drafted into the AFL. Incredible really.

Some posters need to learn to accept that we sometimes get it wrong as a club. You can’t bat at 1000. Frustrating reading people trying to justify not giving him a spot on the list last mid season. By the same token not going to crucify the club on their call. Sometimes you get it wrong. Now let’s move on

Not once has banks been remotely close to BOG though. Davidson did it in his third game. Thought he was better than Libba last night.

If Davidson played for us his output would be similar to Bank’s right now

Banks also wins more of his own ball that in the long term will serve him better imo

At 21 Banks should really be showing more considering the position he plays.

Also disagree. Davidson just gets to the right spots and does not stop running. Very intelligent footballer.

Hugo‘s purple patch last year looks similar to what Davidson has produced thus far and he didn’t it over a long period

Banks ain’t it. His ceiling is Nic Newman. Banks has also been in a professional environment longer than Davidson.

Hugo had a great run last year. Davidson has had a great start to his career. Banks has never been great.

I’ll be sure to keep a close eye on Banks vs Davidson.

Think you have missed the point it’s not just a direct comparison between Banks and Davidson
It’s about us having an abundance of wingers when we have bigger holes in our list

Davidson is an outside attacking winger you can only really have one of those types in a side, we have Ralphsmith pegged for that it would seem

Banks is the smaller more defensively minded type, Will Davidson be a better player? Maybe, maybe not it doesn't really matter at this point

He does the same thing that Jayden Short does, just kicks them high up in the air & hope for the best.
our problems are a lot more than someone that went pick #50 + in the draft.
