A good first showing this season. Mind you Jackson and Reidy were utterly useless.

Work around the ground is a very different style to his brother but still racks them up and is quite effective as almost another mid.

SDK makes TDK look like the temu version of himself

Reidy is a glorified lamppost and Jackson as a matchup suits sdk as they are similar types of rucks and Jackson didn't physically get into him.

The challenge for sdk will be how he goes against the more physical rucks who will crash and bash into him at stoppages and wear him down. Last year at times he seemed hesitant with that hopefully he's found more aggression this year. I do think he can be a good ruck if he mentally sorts out his confidence etc.

If I didn't see it before, I can now see why Damien Hardwick wants him at the Suns. You'd think the Cats will find a way to keep him, but if he remains unsigned for most of this season then you never know.

He's a very good player but honestly the Suns don't need him and I'm not sure where he would fit into their 22 (unless they are trading talls out). I'd say the interest is more about pushing back at the Cats against Rowell than anything else.

Tdk struggled with the big boys like Briggs and The Big O a lot early. Has gotten better vs them but they're a large reason why we kept Pittonet around.

They just love belting blokes like SDK which I hate to watch but ill be keen to see how he copes with it this year compared to last season.

That's a fair point. TDK certainly did struggle and has really improved his aggression against bigger rucks so hopefully SDK can do the same. He's had very few months of ruck training so the scope is there to develop and improve.

Twomey said on Gettable he’s already working on a deal atm.
Reckon the game against Freo was a, “You better pay me cause this is what I can do”

You're probably right. Whatever he was worth yesterday morning is probably a fair bit less than what he's currently worth after that performance against Freo. We'll see if Geelong stump up the cash to keep him.

If he signs it will be a big 2 year deal (pay bump) to get him to FA. I doubt he signs longer than that.

Does anyone seriously think either De Koning brother will be playing for other teams next year?
Damien Hardwick probably does. The Cats play in Brisbane in a fortnight from now and there's an extremely high chance Dimma will meet with SDK that weekend. Just like he did last year with Daniel Rioli when Richmond played on the Gold Coast in Opening Round and then again when he travelled to the GC during Richmond's round 6 bye. Wouldn't be surprised if they met for a third time in round 10 when the Tigers played Brisbane at the Gabba last year.

Hardwick had a pre existing relationship with Rioli. I would shocked if they met. I think only way SDK leaves Geelong would be if he wants to play key back instead of ruck. Even then I couldn't see him going to the GC.

We've heard rumours on our board that SDK has been in talks with us since early last year. I wouldn't be surprised if Dimma has already met up with him. I think it's unlikely he joins us, but you never know.

I highly doubt the Sun's would have the cap space to accommodate a contract that would move SDK north
it would need to be in the $1.4mil range
