Think you had a crack at me as I was very obviously taking the piss on the night out of the melters lol.
No harm no fowl.
Should always give every draftee a chance before we get the pitchforks out.
Numerous full time talent scouts + part time state based consultants actually watching numerous games of dozens of players + then adding in the various means of footage available vs the average fan who watches a few clips or matches online.
Chalk and cheese really.
Wasn't trying to be a smartarse at any individual btw. Great that some on here have a passion for youth football. Budda230 turned it into a career, as has Knightmare. But we're all amateurs compared to the masters.
Was genuinely interested to see what the perception of SDK on draft night was. Fair to say lots of people's opinions of him have grown this year!
The notable draft misses where Wells is perceived to have reached is remembered far more than the times he nails it.
Definitely admit I was one of those guys. I think it was that he was genuinely a complete unknown to most peopleSimilar responses when we traded up to get Holmes.

.. is perhaps the comeback you were looking for?Why because I like Narkle?? I think he's talented but won't make it at AFL level. Am I only allowed to like superstars?
I give him more of a chance of making it than Gryan Miers does when his severed head is sewn onto Kobe Bryant's corpse...
He mentioned him after a recent game - Ego, he called him.He mentioned Egan on AFL360 last week![]()
Sign him up before they move him forward when he will be worth much more. He'd be inline for something like a 5 year, 500k contract

He is a potential star very tall player, can mark, kick and good on the ground. It is much easier to get a good tall back to do the job compared to getting a match winning tall forward. That is why such players are on the big money and there are few of them. Of course Geelong will try him out as a forward at some stage. I never said they would do it soon. I have been complaining since the end of the season to the mid season draft that we needed another very tall defender, and that failure to do something could come back to bite us. As for comparable young forwards coming through, there is only Neale who is raw and has played one game. Esava is shorter and is taking his time in coming through. Why would he be moved forward?
We have more potential young forwards coming through compared with young defenders, and SDK is making a name for himself as one of the best young defenders in the comp
True. I should have been clearer. I meant get him on a long generous deal now rather than a shorter deal during which he will be tried as a forward and if successful, his market value will increase substantially by the next renewal. They're not moving him forward
Be a long time before he goes forward other than 5 or 10 mins here and thereSign him up before they move him forward when he will be worth much more.
Yes. I meant to say that in the future, not this season, he will be moved forward to see how he goes, and if successful, he will be worth a lot more. But he is out of contract this year I believe, so I hope they offer a lot to get a long contract. Wasn't he moved forward in the last quarter in the Pies match? If behind in the last in a final, they might repeat it.Be a long time before he goes forward other than 5 or 10 mins here and there

He could if we wanted him to but he is such a good defender we'd be silly to do it unless something on our list balance changes immenselyWe really think he's gonna do a reverse Domsy?
