Honestly feel gutted and slightly nauseous, however one must take a positive and pragmatic approach to this.

Of all the areas on the field we could afford to lose someone, it's the back line.

It also presents Byrne, Macreadie and Mullet with a marvellous opportunity to cement a permanent place in the back half for years.

We know how good Doc is, there is no doubt about that. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise as it gets 22 games of footy into another kid and in the long run will actually accelerate our development as a team.

Devastating news and I wish him all the best in his recovery. I'm sure he will come back a real force for us in 2019. On a positive note it sorta reminds me of Gordon Hayward of the Boston Celtics breaking his ankle in one of the most gruesome injuries I've ever seen...well it didn't break the Celtics so to speak they have just won 13 games in a row and are looking awesome.
So to cut it short I hope the team can grow more next year and not use this injury as an excuse for poor form or failure.
I'm looking forward to the further development of players and the team in general and still have hope for 2018!!
