Absolutely gutted, have his signed number on my jumper. Top Quality bloke and will no doubt be a huge support for the young guys on the track and where needed. Hopefully gets some time with Bolts in the box. No good time to do an ACL, but at least it gives the coaches time to adjust any plans and others to try and gel into the back group during pre/season. Fingers crossed and look forward to him being one of our best new 'recruits' for season 2019.

I don't know much about specific injuries, but do players often get back to their full output after an ACL injury? Or is it something that will always impact their future performance?

Seriously the club needs to look at our training facility. Our original ground is getting resurfaced and we're currently training on some public paddock. Not good enough and i suspect this has contributed to this injury. This could end up costing BB his job as i can't see us winning many games next year.

An injury like that to hit one of our most important players at this stage of our development is truly horrendous and unbelievably unfortunate.

No doubt he’ll be back and even better in 12 months, and of course, really feel for him and the entire squad at the moment… and for all of next year.

But the question needs to be asked though – With our main training oval currently out of bounds, is the surface of the outside ground we’ve moved to in any way responsible for this?

Unforgiveable if so.

The one silver lining I can find is Mullet I think stylistically was not a mile off Doc from last year so in a Bolts enviroment he may cover 80% of Doc's output which helps.

Midfield 100% has to lift the rest of the load along with Gibbs being gone as well. Kennedy, SPS, Charlie (will probably move him mid and half back as I think he can do the competitive work).

Short version, the replacment of Doc cannot be lumped on one set of shoulders. The team is going to have to work to get it done combined.

Also thank God for Norf being so shit. Along with GC will prevent another spoon which would be a complete disaster for the club.

Shocking news. Not too much else to say, really.

We've got the replacements on paper but there's no hiding from reality - he's a star and his absence will certainly be felt.

Hard to take any positives from this, but at least we've got time to plan for his absence - better it happen now than on the eve of the season. Also provides a real opportunity for Byrne, Williamson and Mullett to stand up and cement a spot for themselves in the senior side.

Looking forward to seeing him back on the park in 2019. He'll be a terrific inclusion to the side.

**** I can’t stop watching that

Can definitely see him moving into the captaincy role at the end of next year after spending the season picking the brains of the coaches and learning from the sidelines.

Hopefully Williamson and Byrne can step up- Judd's injury was the unearthing of Cripps.
