How many of our players ended up playing through the backline at some point or other this year?
It was at 17 with a few games to go.
And that’s without Doc and Willo obviously

I do read this you know, ffs.we all are, awg.........different people deal with it in different ways........we're still all baggers underneath...........except that one jerk.....
I saw this on insta as well - he definitely landed awkwardly, stopped jumping & sat down.
It was on an “insta story” so it only lasts 24 hours, hence why it’s not there now

No possibly notThat's still 73% of never doing it again.
Problem is if all goes well he still will not have much impact in 2020 coming off two, so it is basically 2021 when we might get the old doc back.
…Hello Newman
We don't need to bring in someone to replace him.Shit news guys was really stamping himself as a gun before the first 1 to do it again is just cruel all the best for next yr i still expect you guys to improve.
Can you replace him with new rules sorry if has been discussed but i reckon grigg should be playing afl or if you want a defender ex melb defender clisby playing at north adel may be worth a look.
On the other hand getting Newman for nothing was a stroke of genius.
Pragmatically i see your point. However, Parochially, once and twice rejected, third time shy. Hope he never is given the chance to wear the Navy blue
the lord doth giveth and the lord...........ah **** it.........Membership arrives and Doc ruptures his ACL. Bitter-sweet
Honestly I'm more devastated for him than anything to do with our prospects.
While undoubtedly a much missed presence on-field, one player, especially in defense, shouldn't make such a difference that we pin all our hopes and dreams on them. We have to be able to cover them.
But his leadership and footy brain are seriously impressive, and along with all that, he seems an absolutely upstanding young man so it just really, really sucks for him.
Willo has ability to consolidate himself at Carlton football club...superb skills and his ceiling could be anythingNever good to see players injure themselves.
From a club perspective, you can look at this two ways:
1. OMG, we lost Docherty. We're screwed. 0 & 22 season coming up. World is coming to an end or
2. We're in the fortunate position to cover Doc's absence through the recruitment of Nic Newman and return of Tom Williamson.
I prefer viewing the situation with point 2.
To try putting a positive spin on it, next year will be the same as this year as far as Doc is concerned so.... Yeah ... Actually that's still pretty shit. Just not worse shit.I can't get over this news. Like my mood for 2019 is already set and nothing will change it.
