As shattering as it is to lost Doc for another season to a ACL injury, it provides opportunity for someone else to stand up. It gives, williamson, Newman, Macredie and Schumacher all a chance to fill the void.

Just to put things into perspective, West Coast had Priddis and Mitchell retire, Nic Nat done his knee and was out for the season, Keneddy was only played a handful of games for the season and they also lost Gaf for the back end of the season and finals, yet they still managed to win a grand final.

1 player does not define a season and am hoping a few gems can be found. Doc is a big loss but he will be back as he is the ultimate professional.

Blame the surgeon that didnt do the job right. Otherwise there is nothing to blame besides bad luck.
I still say knees and football boots is something that has never been fully factored in. I had a pair of running shoes and constant knee pain. When I stopped wearing them for good it went away. A few microns of difference in angles of support is all.

Completely flattened by this news. I can’t imagine where Doc’s head is at now. I’m oscillating between catastrophising and trying to find some positive way forward. I know this is just another reaction, but I think that hanging out with you lot will help. We can’t mend Doc’s knee. We can share our pain and our hopes for the future. Another rock on the road to this great Club’s return from a very dark period. When we get there, and I believe we will, we’ll have a team of gritty, resilient characters.

It's just guttwrenching that we have been robbed of the league's best hbfer for two of his prime years. My son will be 3 years old by the time Docherty can lace the boots back up, having never lived in a time where Docherty has played for the mighty blues. (Not that he cares but his Dadda does)

The loneliest place in a football team is in the rehab rooms, it can be gut wrenching and plays with your mind, he can not rush back from this, his body may be fine but his mind will always have that doubt.

All the best Doc, take your time, by the the time you are firing again, so will the rest of the boys.

Who gives a shit about the trampoline?

From my understanding, once the rehab is completed to the point where he is cleared to play (late last season), it is a matter of luck whether it happens again or not.

Understand people want someone or something to blame, the trampoline ‘incident’ is not it unless it was a full rupture at the time. Can’t imagine he would be physically able to risk running on it, if he had already done that much damage.

There are two main things I think the club should look at this offseason-

1) Time travel- lets just go back two days and give Doc the day off.

2) Curse breaking- whatever voodoo witch doctor curse has hit our club needs to be lifted.

I'll start gathering ingredients for this curse lift just in case. Got some eye of newt and a bats heart already. KohPhi I need some tears of a pure hearted virgin... if you could oblidge that would be great. Thanks.

Day after still shattered for Doc and the team. But really should at this point of our teams development be something they're prepared for and can deal with and use it to inspire as opposed to deflate.

There have been many instances of important players doing ACL's in the season and not impeding the clubs efforts, most recently Nit Nat (team won the flag).

Last captain to do an ACL... Bob Murphy.. and his team won the flag!

Shattered for Doc and the club but on the bright side he will be back for finals.
That’s the spirit ...
