Football ability aside, the man is all class
I jokingly suggested we send him to Canberra however I like it where he is. Not many can be described as a natural leader but Doc definitely fits the bill. I’m thinking this will have a positive effect on the club despite how badly I feel for him.

Wonder if it’s the same surgeon
I would imagine there's probably 1 or 2 surgeons most AFL clubs would use for this OP (the best in the country), hopefully surgeon is not anti-carlton ;) .... I know when I walked into my surgeons office last year and saw he was a Collingwood man, I didn't let him know I was a Blues supporter... you never know.

my dentist is a ripping bloke but a shocking pies supporter - hard to trust an oral hygienist with a plaque wall........

Anyone keen to know more details from the club regarding why/how it happened (given how innocuous it apparently was) and what if anything can or will be done differently this time around to mitigate (as much as possible) the risk of reoccurrence?
I.e training loads, strapping/taping, different rehab approach, anything really?? Super paranoid now for next off season and beyond especially given how cherry ripe he was and how innocuous the incident apparently was....

Jack Kennedy ENT surgeon?

He’s a Collingwood man but a very good surgeon.

I think the only thing they could do is hold weekly prayer sessions :D....really its just fate and bad luck

imagine what example this is setting for our younger players, so so so valuable for any team to have.
He’s like the most certain future AFL coaching great I’ve ever seen.

He’s clearly bright, composed, confident, resilient. He’s obviously a student of the game. These 2
Years are no doubt finishing off his General footy understanding brilliantly.

It’s weird but in a way I can’t feel sorry for him. I see SUCH a bright and wonderful future for this guy.

I believe this is what Bolton has brought. From day one the changing of attitudes began. Been a long predetermined process and Doc is the best evidence yet of what can happen. The green shoots....the washing the dishes....the not being defined by adversity but slowly slowly working towards goals with determined strength of purpose and character.
