News Sam Docherty - Another ACL :((

That video is almost unbelievable 2 days after his second ACL !!

If that was me, I would still be tucked up in a corner in the fetal position humming the tune to Henry 8th.

Doc is one amazing person and one inspirational leader.

Now who suggested he shouldn't remain co-captain ?

I really like that Simon Lloyd reminded people that Doc is the co Captain of the club, not just the team.

I think our management made a mistake appointing Docherty co-captain this year.

They should have said to him, concentrate of your recovery. Get a good season under your belt in 2019 and then we will make you co-captain for 2020.

Instead of concentrating on his recovery, he's had the added stress of being co-captain - spending time stressing and deal with all the media and other commitments, when he should have been just solely focusing on recovering.

Hopefully management learn their lesson next year and tell Docherty to take a back seat as co-captain and just focus on his recovery.

The guy is everything you want and need in a Captain, he can’t just turn that shit off and pretend he doesn’t care.

Selfish is not what he or us needs.

Interesting...maybe Doc is an extremely good performer. But he looks to have been honest and sincere in his video post ACL. And does not look one bit stressed. Disappointed? Who wouldn't be. But stressed, overload of work? Nope and nope.

We have heard time and time again that Doc had done everything right in his recovery, and could have played towards the end of last season.

I think it's laughable to suggest being named co-captain of the footy club in October had any impact whatsoever on the recovery and distracted his focus away from it.

Yeah nah, he's loving the coaching and will throw his energy into that.

Is Docherty injured again... heck!! No wonder I’ve been depressed all week... I wish I was as strong as Doc. Each time I look at the Carlton website I almost cry.. got my membership packs this week and haven’t bothered opening them... I wish I was as strong as Doc.

I'm not sure Doc knows any other way. Natural leader who will get involved wherever he can be of assistance.

Isn’t hindsight wonderful everyone is a genius

Unfortunately with anyone who does an acl injury there is nearly a 30% chance of reinjuring the same knee or other knee within 24 months. USA study.

30% chance for people in what demographic, doing what, with what genetic markings/ traits, compared to people who’ve never done an acl? What was the type of study, how did they collect data for this. Gonna have to provide the article, that doesn’t mean much on its own.

This is just wrong...Doc needs other things to do while rehabbing.
You can’t do rehab 24/7, being involved in the club is a great distraction from what can be a very mentally debilitating injury.
It gives him purpose & drives the enthusiasm for himself, while showing the younger guys what team is all about.
Go Doc!
Go Blues!
