One of the toughest players of our time Coming back from all those issues and coming back at such a high level time after time sets the club standards for sure. A herculean effort from the guy. Goes out as one of the most respected players in the AFL and sometimes that is enough to show you had a great career. Not everyone needs a shiny medal to achieve that

Also his father passed away in the pre season that he came to Carlton.
Had so much thrown at him and handled it with class and determination.
Great team mate, player and eloquent speaker for men's health after his cancer bouts. He does important work on the board of the Peter Mac Foundation too.
I hope he will stay at Carlton as an assistant coach. He would be a great mentor for the VFL team.

I watched his highlights video and he was a bloody good player before all his knee recons and cancer battles.
