Would take any of them in a heartbeat. FOS is future premiership captain material, Lalor is a cherry on top game breaker of the highest order, Smith is silky smooth, Reid is a gun.

If I had to take one I’d take Lalor.

Great draft 2023 but Harley Reid is looking the best currently from that year.

It is hard. Obviously they aren’t the same players but the comparison ceilings might be something like

Reid - Pendles
Lalor - Dusty
FOS - Dunkley
Smith - Walsh

Depends on what your team needs, how they go with injury & opportunity. Prime Dusty never really fires the same unless you hit multiple GF’s for example.

They're not. Not even close.
To be fair though, the OP did say long term who will be best.
Still likely Reid in my opinion but Lalor has all the tools to rip games apart if he continues on his trajectory

You could also chuck in Levi into this discussion as well.

It is looking like a super draft - very high quality top end - probably top 20-30 or so will be guarnteed good players.

This debate will go for years and its way too early to tell of course - Jagga obviously missed all last year and Lalors year was severely interupted. So FOS and Reid have had a good head start. I dont think freo, tigs, carlton or norf would swap their pick with anyone at this stage.

Hopefully we can throw Hotton and Smillie in the discussion by the end of the year too!

FOS this year I can see how good he actually is, he looks like a Fyfe, Hird type player.
Still got hope for Sid Draper as well to be a top liner. Also will not be surprised if Ashcroft and Lombard end up the best of the lot.
