Virtually given away. A sad day. Of course the end for our veterans had to come one day. But this just doesn't feel great.

worst part is we are going to watch our veteran wind up his career after 1-2 years with another club; one of our competitors for next year. O'Meara better be worth it, we certainly wont do anything with pick 88

understand the decision, agree with it in part, but gee it hurts seeing my favourite Hawk playing elsewhere when he was clearly the best of the old boys in 2016. But, clarko knows best and looks after those that he loves. not sure I can watch an Eagles game whilst Sammy is still playing for them.
once in a generation player departs for 88...ouch!

My line up to this point has been, "if it is what Sam wants then we can't really be too sad about what is unfolding", but ****, pick 88 is hard to take, and really leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I know it is not the case, but can't help but feel that is the value the club has put on his head. Couldn't they have at least got a third round pick? Late 4th round just feels like a big **** you. Next trade news better be JOM signing or I'm joining the riot.

What is worse is that we approached Mitchell.

Also Mitchell was happy to stay if we didn't get reasonable compensation.

We also haven't locked in o'meara and Lewis may be a risk.

Why do it so early, for so little for a legend and reigning b+f?

Pitchforks and torches time :(

I dont care what anyone says its a ridiculous trade. Most certainly the worst trade in the history of the club.

Rubbish, it's great for Sam and his family. As someone else with a young family, it'd be far better for me to move before my kids start school than when they're already in school. Sam and his wife were already considering this move in a years time. So for him and his family, this is a great move. And the Club is facilitating it.

For supporters, yes it sucks, we're losing a favourite player. Get used to it, it happens in other major sports around the world (And in minor competitions too!!)

I got up this morning, saw the official announcement, it was like a punch in the guts from Mike Tyson in his prime (I thought he might actually stay, in the end). I know all the rational reasoning behind it, but I just want to be a little irrationally emotional for a moment, if that's ok with everyone?

I am finding I am absolutely shattered, broken up.
