LOL, found this thread and laughed very hard at the fact bigfooty would take Harris over Mitchell.

Mitchell is miles in front of Harris....

Its like comparing Everitt to Street

Sam Mitchell>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Daniel Harris

Absolute disgrace that BF would vote for Harris

So what you're trying to say is Mitchell is better because he failed to respond to being tagged and even as the "go to man" in Hawthorn's midfield, failed to take the next step and accept the extra responsibility. Right....

Harris is so much >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mitchell, that it is not really worth discussing anymore.

i remembered this poll from earlier in the year and was waiting for someone to dig it up. It just reinforces how little some people know about football

Yep Mitchell is playing a good brand of football. But in saying that i'm happy to have Daniel Harris on our list. The kid can play for sure. He has fitness issues which will hopefully improve in time, but his efficiency as a footballer with clearances to game time is unreal. Hecan bust out of the centre, and find a target accuratly by foot or hand.

No concerns here with Harris. He'll be a fantastic centre player.

Ah, the benefit of hindsight.

When this was created, Harris was playing fantastic footy, and Mitchell wasn't playing to his full potential. Right now Mitchell is on fire, and Harris is struggling a fair bit with his fitness (I still suspect a touch of OP).

Mitchell is the better player right now, but you didn't really need to bring up an old thread to tell people that. Unless you need something to take your mind of Saturday that is.

It's not a matter of hindsight, it's a matter of premature ejaculation on the part of Roos fans.

It wasn't even a contest last year, now it's laughable. Harris will be a good player, but like Mick Malthouse said, Mitchell is the closest thing to Greg Williams since Diesel retired.

When this thread was started Harris had strung together half a season of above average football whilst Mitchell had a season of top class football and a rising star under his belt. Even whilst Sam was unfit he was performing to a level equal to that of Harris. Now Harris is unfit and you're using it as an excuse? Pfft.

Mitchell >>>>>>> Harris. Always was, always will be.

Maybe we can started discussing how well Nathan Thompson is playing right now?

Maybe we can discuss it in three years when Jordan Lewis and Matt Little are running around at AFL level whilst Thommo has been put out to stud...

And we'll enjoy watching Hamish McIntosh, David Hale and Chad Jones playing healthy AFL football because they wern't forced to hold senior AFL positions at 20 years of age when they're under developed and under sized.

Nathan Thompson was brought to the club as a solid stepping stone between era's of key position footballers at the club. Not to play until he is 40. And he is doing a fantastic job right now.

Idiot.

Sam Mitchell is brilliant! Forget the [clearances] his courage is second to none. People at Hawthorn talk about our hard nuts, Brownie, hodge, Vanders, Osbourne etc. There is none harder at the ball then Sammy!

If Greg Williams had 39 touches, his team wouldn't lose to a team like Collingwood 2005.

Mitchell is a clearance freak and as tough as they come, but he can't hurt a team like Diesel. Not even close.

Drivel...

Williams was a great player, but his ball usage didn't always kill sides either.

Stats only seem to firmly go back to 1993, but if you check the opening two games of that season he nailed 32 possessions in a home defeat to struggling Fitzroy and 38 the next week in a draw against Essendon.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that he played other 30+ possession games prior to this in which his team got rolled.

You could pick-up 60 possessions and still see your side lose if your forwards are incapable of, or unable to, exploit your efforts.

I'm sure Mitchell is worried that his AFL record 18 clearances weren't damaging enough. He'll take it on board and make the opposition pay next time.

Or perhaps they'll be 23-year olds without a clue as to how to play AFL football because they haven't had any experience, due to old-timers such as Thompson, Rocca, Porter, McKernan and other 'developed' veterans you've recruited recently.

Either way, I didn't hear Roos fans complaining when Petrie was given his shot at an early age...But don't tell me...he was under developed and under sized? Yup, that's why you made him a VC.

Bully for you. If you're happy with a stop-gap, so be it. We've learnt the lesson the hard way at Hawthorn, good to see you're as much inclined towards saving Laidley his job as he is.

We'll stick with Lewis and his underdeveloped body thanks... :p
