Wonder if it was the reality check of getting dropped more than anything else. Seemed to put his body on the line and take the game on a little better yesterday.

Yeah, some are focusing on him being dropped and still getting to play, but the message was sent and he got a chance to fight for his spot right away and did it well.

Former Lions supporter could be a handy pick up for the Lions looking for much needed pace out of defence

He doesn't have pace. He has spatial awareness. Works well in traffic.

Yes and you surely have to ask the question of why they don't think he can push into a forward/midfield group that isn't quite fully fleshed out, and instead has to fight it out with quite a few back flankers. Especially when there are issues with forward entries/last kick inside forward 50.

What were the coaching staff not getting out of him to change it up so drastically? Especially with a guy who on the training track has the weapons he does...

Blues have drafted so many mids they are now playing them either out of position or in the 2nds.

IF SPS doesn't improve the kids will fly past him.

So it could well be time for him to look elsewhere. If his form stays where it has been this season then a pick between 30 > 40 if salary cap isn't a problem.

Looks like he is not in teague's favourite list , Personally think he is being played out of his best position and doesnt look like he is living up to teague's expectations in that role. Might just be best if he and carlton parted ways

Probs will leave. Still reckon he has the skillset to flourish just don’t reckon that will happen under Teague

SPS was highly regarded in his draft year, a pick 6 , Sam just has not developed as we’d hoped , still young thought , let’s hope we can retain him.

Reckon he’s pretty much bad at everything people think he is good at. He is really slow, butchers a hell of a lot of balls and is really not that good on the inside.

The club will let him go for a mid-range pick, but he won’t push on to become anything more than a role player at best.

He's a good contested mid. Maybe he doesn't have the tank to play that position. I dont know if its sps fault or carltons fault but he is a wasted player. He is a crap hbf. I think he would be good for Ports midfield if he wants to work on his two way running.
