He did the tight thing, an injury in TAC is an unnecessary risk.

There was a poll this year in the Age of TAC players regarding which coach they would most like to play under.
Leigh Matthews won hands down, and that might have been a factor also.

In all honesty, I don't see all that much in him to get excited about.

Who would you rather have, Sheldon or Armfield if the former had nominated for the 2007 draft and another club didn't show any interest?

I have no idea how Armfield compared to Sheldon as a junior. but it might be touch and go with Army because we need a small forward/midfield who can kick a goal. But I'd rather Steven Browne than Sheldon if we had to use our third round selection to father-son Sam because the Lions were interested.

Sam has more question mark over him than Browne who has who has played senior footy in the WAFL and played well. Browne might be the hard nosed defender and mid Carlton needs if he develops in the Bullants because he hasn't been given a go in the pre-season.

* Steven Browne. I'd suggest this kid could play in a variety of positions. Seems to relish being out there amongst the senior boys and is very good on both sides. Has clean disposal under pressure and is a good mark overhead for his size. Being left out of some of these Challenge matches indicates that he'll have a development year with the Bullants.

Solid for a first year player.

Is full of spunk and confidence, and is a little bit of a cult hero around here already.

Yeah, I'm sure he would have liked to play for Carlton but it didn't pan out.

He's still very small and is a long term prospect, but he genuinely showed some almost Daicosian magic for Suncoast last year.

He has the skills and an amazing attitude, but whether he will be able to develop to the physical level required is unknown at this stage. Was certainly worth a punt that late in the draft.

Not sure if the Marc Murphy revenge scenario really played a part, but if it was completely 50/50 between Sam and another player, a little spite could very well have tipped the scales.

I would be most disappointed in his temprament if he suddenly decides that he is homesick and wants to come to Carlton.

However, if he serves his time and want to come home... then I am all for it

Voss didn't give it to him.He got it in 2008.And yes he has been playing superb in the reserves.Well done to Sammy!He has been playing midfield half forward and half back in the 2's.He is a gun!

I bumped this thread because I knew Carlton supporters would be keen to see how the Son of Ken goes, and they were.

Then lionshine responds a bloody post that is a year old, on YOUR board.

All I can suggest is that you ignore him. Works for us on the Brisbane board.
