Toast Sam Walsh Rnd 4 Rising Star Nominee

Champion Data, has Walsh rated fourth in the first year players rating. Mainly because the others are more efficient with their disposal, even though they get half.

Please just watch a game without all the stats, CD you are embarrassing yourself in front of the whole football world

Very frustrating to stick with him in Fantasy footy and get average scores for 30 possie games. CD really over rated by many.

CD do a lot well, but they do get a bee in their bonnet about certain players and Walsh appears to be one of those players.

Should have upgraded Walsh by now😜

This is why I am a perennial also ran. A little too parochial sometimes. Top 6% SC, but AF an abomination Soapy V
goes Ok just quietly

Sam Walsh = GOAT

Getting better as the year goes on, just an incredible youngster.

Cripps is a lock for the team of this century (injuries permitting), this kid with an ounce of luck will be as well.

All these commentator and journalist nuff nuffs have done by pumping up others for the rising Star is push Walshy to average 30 a week

I want the rising star/Brownlow double with Crippa

The next Carlton team of the century is 80 years away!
Cripps and Walsh will be long forgotton, just as the champion players who played in the triple premiership of 1906-07-08 were, and the many other players who were also overlooked for the Carlton team of the 20th century.

Only one game to date he hasn't had a minimum 20 possession game and that was an 18 against GWS when no one got a kick.

Wonder just how many rising star nominations he may have had, if they were simply awarded to the best eligible player each round?

I was just thinking about this. How many players in the league have played every game and have a season low >18 touches?
I would be amazed if it was more than a handful.

He’s much stronger than we all knew isn’t he?

And a much better mark.
He is but he will get much stronger and then all this stuff he is trying will start to work.
Seriously theres no telling how good this one might be.
We have only seen the cartoon before the movie starts so far.

At the start of the year Champion Data rated Aaron Hall a better player than Patrick Cripps, reigning Brownlow medalist Tom Mitchell, and Joel Selwood.

They are a joke. Worst stats company in the world.

As well as he is playing now he is getting caught in tight with the ball a lot.

He is till getting the ball away, most often effectively, but once he gets his legs and core built up he'll be extracting the ball better than he already is and breaking away - look out, I say!
He was in packs and places yesterday that he had no right to be at this stage of a first year. He is a ferocious hunter of the football. Has no fear and a super quick brain.

He’s a tougher, not as good a kick, Nathan Buckley. Best comparison I’ve got.
He's also a mite quicker, and has a bit more gamesense.

Sixteen points the difference, after they'd just kicked 2 on the trot for the first time in the game. Poor turnover ends up being spoiled away from the goalsquare, but we're outnumbered on the deck and our boys are talls as opposed to the quick blokes they had down there. Real opportunity to reduce the margin to 10 points. Enter Walsh, from 90m away and where the ball originated, fighting and holding the ball in; a half second later, they'd have won clean possession and taken a shot. End result is a stoppage - which we won - but denied them an easy shot out of pure effort but also from knowing that we'd need him there. He read it faster than anyone else.

He has the makings of an all time captain, if his first year is anything to go by. He's doing things great leaders do on the football field.
