De Goey would replace plenty in the Melbourne lineup. He's never going to be a superstar but he can be incredibly valuable to a contender and a role where he isn't required to do any heavy lifting (see Collingwood 2018). The guy is spudding it up but he's clearly a little fragile and plays in an extremely poor team.
Who ?

Who in the position he plays , De Goey picks and choses when he plays and its usually 3-4 big games and 5-6 so so games then is missing the rest then you combine that with other issue's it just gets to the too hard basket.

He is a mid/fwd he does not play to the high level in enough games and wants to be the star, Fritsch plays that role at the dee's and plays to the level more consistently.

North would be a good team for him

Melksham, Spargo, Neal-Bullen. You’d take DeGoey in a heartbeat over those three for starters.

Not if you want to win a flag you wont

You can throw up any name from your bottom 6 but have to remember that no team is full of stars and they need to play the same role
When was the last time Melksham was played deep foward/Mid for full game

Pretty much every game he plays.

Why have a bottom six when you can have a bottom five?

I can't stand this rhetoric. De Goey is a lazy player but he's not the costing a team a flag. His ability is a long way ahead of those three players listed and was one kick away from being a premiership player. I mean the Bulldogs carried a lazy and undisciplined Stringer to a flag too.

And would you take Stringer back ?

For what De Goey will cost $800k+ he is not the player that will deliver you a flag and he just doesn't perform at the level consistently enough

You’re argument wasn’t about his cost. You’re saying he’s better than the three players I mentioned. Which is ridiculous. Every coach and list manager in the comp would take DeGoey over them Hardwick included. If you think otherwise you’re deluded.

Perhaps i should have explained it better , If in discussion about getting a player into the club the cost would also be part of the discussion as he is not free
Nobody would expect a straight swap of Degoey for 1 of these and the entire package would be the argument

He's a part of our future & seems to love the club.

T-Mac's form will drop off soon, and Weid will get his chance. I think we're all simply happy to see him getting consistency in the 2s.

I think we'd much sooner try to shop T-Mac again & with him back in form I think we'd be a better shot at doing that in the coming offseason.

I think you'd be surprised given you're just looking at his best which appears once in a blue moon.

Spargo and ANB are extremely important parts of Melbourne's system that excel in the parts of the game that De Goey is too lazy to give a shit about, that being defensive pressure, tackling and playing their roles.

Please stop suggesting De Goey, you're not thinking straight.

Tom McDonald’s form is a good part of the reason we’re undefeated on 7-0. He’s been fantastic this season so far and 28yo isn’t old. He kicked 70+ in 2018. He’s a known quantity.

People are overrating Weideman based on kicking a few goals at VFL level. In the ones he’s kicked a very underwhelming 46 goals in 44 games.

I would rather invest money in locking down Luke Jackson long term. Now there’s a kid with genuine star potential.

Weideman? Meh. Not every young key forward makes it.
I’m very glad you’re not in charge of list management.
