Just won a flag at Casey playing as the first ruck

A year to run on his contract but can't get a decent run at Melbourne.

Is there a future for him as the forward who can help in the ruck?

Jackson leaving may help his case at Melbourne but Grundy may be coming in.

There's also nothing to suggest they won't...

He'd hardly be the first contracted depth player to ask for a trade for more opportunity 😂

There are probably 100s across the AFL/VFL which fit this mould.

Not really much to say except his contracted and a depth player.

To say anything else would just be speculating / spinning rumours really.

I doubt that very much...

Most depth players would know they are depth players and just lucky to be on a list

Whilst others would believe they genuinely have something to offer a club as a best 22 player. They just lack the opportunity..

Not sure what the problem is to be honest. Hope the thread hasn't offended you?

There isn’t really much to say about Weiderman other then his contracted depth.

Anything else would just be bigfooty rumour spinning, which feels like this thread was spun up to do as there’s been nothing in the media and he just won a premiership with his boys.

The thread was created so fans could discuss whether they think he would be a worthy target, what his price may be and what it would take to get him out of Melbourne.

Nothing to do with media rumours or anything like that. Just a good old fashioned discussion from footy fans.

It's really nothing to get but hurt over. Go and enjoy the Casey win.

He's contracted depth, his contract runs to 2023. How hard is it?

Would suggest the Dees are probably going to keep him, considering the fact Ben Brown seems as cooked as a Christmas Goose.

I wasn't talking to you. Just trying to help out the illiterate.

Huge apologies grammar police. I am sure everyone will sleep easier tonight, thank you for that.

In terms of what his worth, well that depends on if he wants to leave or not.

At the moment there is no evidence of him wanting to leave or the club wanting to trade him so I would say it would be a pretty big price.

It's a fair thread.

Weideman has somewhat reinvented himself over the last couple of months. He's been a revelation with his ruckwork and could potentially appeal to teams wanting a second ruck/forward.

That’s just your opinion, there’s no evidence of this, I haven’t seen anything in the media.

He is a happily contracted required player.
With all due respect, you have no idea if he's happy or not.
Couldn't get a game in the GF and has played 59 games in 7 years.

Melbourne obviously don't rate him highly, so he might be on the look out for another chance
somewhere else.

Well I doubt they will be dropping Max Gawn

So that means they will have two rucks just like they do now

I doubt they will rest one in the back pocket...
Jackson is more or a forward than either Gawn or Grundy.

Imo, doesn't make sense to trade out your key forward depth when bringing in an injury prone ruckman.

Mind you I don't understand why Dees are targeting Grundy at all.
