Will be a good pick even if only for depth. Hope he can be another success story like Peter Wright. Will we now see one of the boys like Brand or Eyre delisted?

It doesn't strike me as necessary but Weidemann has undeniable talent. We've also got a very good record of getting improvement out of talls.

Melbourne is a bit of a graveyard for key forwards, based on how they play.

This guy was one of Melbourne's best players in 2 finals wins in 2018 as a 3rd year player.

He's had one decent and extended run in the side since then. In 2020 he played 13 games straight. He kicked 19 goals in the first 11 games.

If we get the level of improvement we have gotten out of Stewart, Weidemann is a good chance of playing 100 games. If the level of improvement mirrors Wright then he does it at a very high level.

At worst it's cover at either end of the ground. I hope this doesn't mean Eyre or Brand gets squeezed.
