Yeah sure 1st and foremost myself and whole family (apart from a couple of sad strays) are Collingwood tragic's and that's mostly because my grandfathers 1st cousin was captain a fella by the name of Daniel Minogue. He famously played a whole GF with a broken arm against the baggers I think that was 2011 (correct me if I'm wrong anyone). I happened to stumble upon this forum and thought why not, I enjoy the opinions differing and likewise and like most of the Pie family on here I don't have rose coloured glasses - I see it and say it the way I see it.

Injuries as an excuses are cute. All teams in the comp have 6-19 injuries. Gold Coast having 19.
Really.. so you find it no coincidence that 7 of the bottom 8 teams have used 32 or more players. compared to the Top 8 that have used 32 and under. so lets take out the top 4 forwards from each club which make up the number to 36 that we have used. and tell me how well these clubs would be going then !!
Adel - Walker / betts / Lynch / Jenkins
Hawks - Roughead / Gunston / Bruest / Rioli
North - Waite / Thomas / Harvey / Brown
Geel - Hawkins / Motlop / Kersten / Caddy
Syd - Franklin / Heeney / Tippet /

Out of that list I'd be most concerned if I was a Richmond supporter. Have had most of their better players all year and are down with us.
If Bucks had most of our list available and we were where we are then he would have to go.

Except Brown and Marley played in the VFL through choice this week.

I realise that - Marley is undoubtedly in our best side and hasn't been dropped for form. Was just returning from injury.

Brown was dropped, and then got injured... but does anyone really want Frost in the team over him?

Oh, I agree with the sentiment of your post, it's just that I think the club was too slow to pull the trigger on those two is all.

My top 5 most important players going in to season 2016 were 7,10,20,22,32. They all played on the weekend and we got smacked on our home turf.

Treloar
Pendlebury
Sidebottom

Best 3 mids.

Reid most important defender.

Cloke best forward.

Hard to argue with that going in to round the start of the season. They all played and we failed miserably.

hawks equivalent top 5 arguably. Rioli / hodge / Gibson / Mitchell / Lewis. so let's assume those guys are playing and then take out the other equivlant injured Collingwood players
from hawks line up

Swan - Roughead
Elliot - Bruest
Fasolo - Poppi
Moore - Gunston
Adams - Smith
Williams - Burgouune
Ramsay - Birchall
Langdon - Langford

If hawks had those players out against Melbourne they Lose. and if they had them out in the 3 games the won by 3 points they lose placing them in 15th spot on the ladder. so Don't tell me injuries don't matter !

What a joke. We be giving up much much much much much more if we were directly trading those players. You've over rated them for a start. I could go on but it's like trying to make sense with a Bafoon.

There's probably a few lessons that could be learned from Leicester City's approach to their EPL season win. Maybe it's as simple as offering pizza after every win. Injuries play a big part and have played a big part in where we currently sit although IMO it's also compounded by an unsettled squad ever since Buckley has taken over coaching.

I personally think we've been subjected to that swiss cheese model where multiple layers have failed these being injuries, form, stability, off-field incidents and discipline, confidence, playing group unity, coaching, administration, leadership, game plan, training and conditioning, trading and drafting ultimately causing what's scientifically known as piss poor performance. In the aviation industry this A380 would've speared into the ground a long time ago.

Club needs an external POV/review to look at all these things and put a plan in place to right the ship. No doubt parts of the coaching and administration team would and should be part of the cull and no doubt this is why this hasn't happened. The skipper still has his hands on the wheel and will drive it to the bottom of the ocean.

Seriously? Langdon, Williams, Marsh, Scharenburg, Brown .. 5 out of 6 ... are they forwards then????
Pre season we were all so worried about Reid standing up then in the blink of an eye 9 defenders around him have had their season interrupted/ruined, lose Swan from the midfield and Moore Elliott and Fasolo from the forwardline.
